Have fun continuing to bag on car companies to make yourself feel better about BMW. Which frankly is a wholly unnecessary exercise as both brands make some pretty good vehicles.

Former Audi owner here. I've had 4 BMWs in the last 3 years and there is no need to be a brand nazi.

The RS3 will be the same as the S3 interior-size wise. The S3 is more on par with the 2 series and CLA in terms of size. S4 will be more on par with F30 and C class in terms of size. The F30 is much more practical, bigger, more spacious, etc. Last edited by reyoasian; 09-29-2017 at 03:31 PM.. |

Woah guys lol i was just saying bye didn't want to stir controversy!
Look I know Audis have issues too, I'm not blind. That's also why I got a maintenance plan (dealer Included through 50k), and got a 7 year 100,000 mile warranty (that Audi will void if I even try a simple APR flash since diesel gate has made them highly flash count sensitive). I cross shopped M2 (new) and a used M3. I really felt after 5 years of the F30 (tracking and daily driving), that BMW's tech was a little behind and the QC issues my new F30 (2012 model), left me a little sick of driving back to the dealer as much as I did. The virtual cockpit is sick, and the seats and alcantara are lush. With that said at least I test drove 2015 M3s. I needed 4 doors and something sick fast. This RS3 will cook most M3s and even CP M3s...The AWD just hooks up. In a straight line. In the turns I'm not inspired but I figure oh well how often am I driving around Lime Rock or NJMP lightning. All said I got it for $59,246, much cheaper than a new M3. It's 4 inches more cramped inside, my son's car seat fits but in reverse he's literally right on me. Once he's forward facing it'll be all good. It was horrible in the M2, so that was ruled out. And of course fine in the M3, since the dimensions are same as my old 335i F30. I'm not a fanboy, I love the BMW brand and will miss the handling for sure, but am intrigued about the RS3 and enjoy the new features (LED lighting, virtual cockpits, MMI, apple car play, beautiful interior seating), but am annoyed about the slight loss in interior space and the manual seating (lol).

I traded in my A3 for a 430i - everyone needs a change sometimes. I did find the A3's interior kind of cheap feeling though, compared to BMW. I'm sure the RS3 is better than the A3, though.

Lots of parts show up in the for sale section that were taken off leased cars being turned in. On my last turn in took off an MPE & rear diffuser in the dealers back lot because I did not have time to do it earlier. Sold the MPE & put the diffuser on the 440. So far I have not turned in a car that did not have some performance hardware or RFT/GFT swapped out. Some cars I buy, depends if I have a reason to keep it longer than 3 years. Since I also build my own cars & motors I might also be considered an enthusiast by most people. Of course if I wanted to play enthusiast attitude to the max I could say the only real enthusiast are those who build not buy. Would be just as inane as saying those who lease are not enthusiasts

Yes, the current gen Jetta is one iteration behind. I mean the MKVII Jetta which is due out soon. The 7th version of the Jetta has been slow to launch. But then, VW has always been known to stagger models like that..

Congrats on your purchase!
I cross shopped the 440i, C43, and Q60. Ended up leasing a '18 S5 Coupe back in July though. Loved my 428i, but it was time for a change. Audi did an amazing job on this new S5. From the rear sport Diff, to the sport adaptive suspension, and the Virtual cockpit/ interior quality. While not as smooth as the B58 on the power delivery, it's still quite potent engine! Gobs and gobs of torque. Not every car is perfect though. The transmission lacks the proper programming to take full potential of this motor. BMW really nailed the ZF8 tuning. Audi needs to take notes, and go back and fix this. Other than that, I absolutely love my new S5. As I'm not a brand loyalist, I can defiantly see myself in a ///M after this lease is up. Maybe even a C63, or C63S.

RS3 is a very nice ride!
I test drove this car several times, it's fast! Interior is very nice. I loved the fact you can hide the screen into the dash. I decided against the RS3 because of size - the rear seating leg room is considerably smaller than the 340i. The other issue is understeer - the sport rims upgrade come with a staggered set, 255's in the front and 235's in the rear. This seemed a bit weird to me but I guess the best low cost solution the engineers could come up with to deal with it's tendancy to understeer.
