Hi all, I'm looking at upgrading the front indicator to LED, can someone tell me which is the correct bulb PY24W or PY21W? The owners manual says the latter but most places online say PY24W?

Also doing the rear indicator, and brake light, I believe the brake light are H21W but not sure on rear indicator as everywhere is giving me two options either a 581 PY21W or 382 P21W bulb, the car is a pre LCI 2015?

Also how do you change the reverse lights and get into them to get the bulb out? Anyone done this before as I am struggling to find much online relating to doing this on an F36, no Youtube videos either about it.

Any help or hits much appreciated.

Cheers mate, I already have the bulbs in mind I wish to purchase I just need to know which type of ones go in our cars ie the front and rear indicators? Which types did you put in the front and rear indicators?

Right no problem, I'm out right now but should be home in the next hour or so, I wrote the right bulbs in my service manual but I'm certain for the fronts it's the 24 one because I made the same mistake buying the later.

As for the brakes the h21 is for both brake and turn signal with the reverse being a smaller one if i recall

Will edit when I can check for certain though

Edit: yes the front turn signal is py24w and rear brake and turn are h21w

If you're curious as well, reverse is pw16w

Hi, I'm guessing our cars must be different the rear turn signal on ours is a P21W bulb same as in my M135i. The front was PY24W which are incredibly hard to get but managed to find some on ebay which had good reviews and seem to be all good. Had to code them in tho. I also changed the rear brake lights which I might change again as they're not much brighter than stock the bulbs I got but again they're hard to source but the LED on off looks massively better. Just waiting for rear indicator bulbs to arrive.

How do you get the reverse light bulb out to change them? I took the cover off on the bootlid and could see the fog light bulb but no idea how they come out to change the reverse and fog light bulb? Can't see no Youtube videos about it either.

How do you get the reverse light bulbs out?

Remove the service cover on the tailgate, unfasten the plug connection,
unlock the latch mechanism and remove the socket housing from the rear light.
