I've also had some oil blow by onto the intake manifold etc after winding it out a bunch .. added a catch can.

Nearing 30k I'm about ready to change the spark plugs and some other maintenance stuff. Eventually I will get the needed flash tune.
aren't plugs a little premature for a non-tuned B58 at 30k?

The dealer did plugs on my car around 30k, I thought it was early too (part of free factory recommended service). Maybe direct injection and turbo charging requires more frequent plug replacement?

Maybe.. but so what its cheap and easy. It will run better with new plugs. I'll also flush the coolant, check the belts, change the MT fluid, and both diff's fluid at 30k. I did the brake fluid at 15k maybe I'll do that again too.

Miles are arbitrary. It's not like at 29999 miles the plugs are mint and at 30001 they're shot.

30,000 miles and no problems. Got the MPPSK. After the warrenty runs out this year November I might get the stage 1 done to 444hp hopefully.

My question is whether Toyota and BMW will be using EXACTLY the same parts and suppliers for parts which would include the small details like bolts, connectors, water pumps, etc.

Toyota has higher standards for longevity and durability than BMW does. Just they share the same engine and chassis doesn't mean that Toyota won't hold its suppliers to higher standards. One example would be the cheap soft aluminum torx or E-torx bolts that are used liberally in a BMW including parts of the engine valve cover that fall apart or snap.

We all know how electric Continental water pumps on the N55 would fail at 60-80K miles.

30k miles here with BM3. No issues other than some weird logs on our crappy California 91 octane.

I'm just over 50k miles on my 2016, and had to replace the turbo. It was covered under warranty. I was on JB4 map 3 (93 octane, +6 psi), with AP intake, both removed for service. Back on map 2 (91-93 octane, +4 psi) and intake back in. It's my first turbo bimmer, and I'm still in love.

I bought it CPO a couple of months ago with 48k miles. I spotted BMS stickers in the dealer images, so who knows how hard the first 48k miles of NYC driving were. The price was right, though. No regrets.

When the warranty runs out, I'm flashing and going catless.

2016 340i

50k miles
48k miles with BMS intake
44k miles with JB4
42k miles with ER catless downpipe

Multiple e85 mixes around e15-e30 due to 91 octane.
Multiple octane boosters used due to 91 octane

Ran Map 1 Beta, followed by initial Map 2 release.

Used map 3 and 5 for the last 1.5 years with lots of octane mixes.

Didn’t run perfect always, but when it did, it was perfect.

No hardware damages. It’s been one month since I returned it and I still miss it, but looking at g20’s helps me get over it.

Running well after a valve cover gasket change. Mine had a defective one but I don't think it matters in a long term reliability.

other than that, solid car

Closing in on 50k miles (only 10k are from me) and no issues so far. Hoping to keep this car for a long time.

I have 33k on city and high speed rural roads all over Louisiana, Texas, and other southern states. I have an early 2018 340 - bought in fall of 2017. So far so good. Just ordered mppsk at roughly the 2 year anniversary of getting the car. I will get it installed sometime in the next week or so. I really like the car for a daily driver and to haul kids for soccer all over the south. I have been very impressed. I hope it gets me to the 140k range like my e46 330 did.
