Spark plugs and coils

I am due for spark plugs and coil change. Do you guys recommend a brand or an upgrade I should do instead of getting the oem ones?

Thanks!!

If the car is bone stock, get stock ones. There is a reason why the BMW engineers selected that particular plug for your vehicle.

Agree on stock spark plugs.
Why do you need to change the coils?

Yeah why do you need to change coil packs? What mileage are you at?

Your car will throw codes when/if a coil fails; they're not a preventative replacement item (even old time single coil with points type were not.) Ev Raceworks (and others) are trying to sell new coils to people that don't need them. Likely, EV RW coils are a re-branded big name (Bosch, etc.)

Unless, as someone asked, you have FBO or other mods that require a hotter spart, there is simply no need to use other than OEM if one needs replacement.

+1...coil packs in general last the life of the car, or close. Wait until one gives you a misfire/fault code, if ever, then consider replacing the set.

Thx for your replies, thought spark plugs and coils need to be replaced together. Guess I just need to replace my spark plugs since I am at 45k miles right?

The manual in my 2016 435 shows the plugs needing replacement at 60K miles. You might want to check the service manual to see what it shows in the event there was a change between 2015 and 2016, but I believe you have another 15K miles before needing new plugs.

Sorry to piggyback the post but, I wanted to do a 30K service on my 435i and change the plugs and coils. My question is, I have BOSCH plugs and coils from my 2008 335xi that I never used, will they fit my 2014 435i?

Probably not. Different engine (you have an N55, the 2008 had an N54. Change intervals are different, etc.

Bosch and/or NGK are OEM plugs. They're pre-gapped for the car you bought them for. Also, they're often not interchangeable.
