Its awesome apart from those alloys (easily fixable) and that high up back end. Not a fan of BMW's GT look.

Not too bad to me. It's little sad that family look is too pronounced on the back.
It feels like bimmers are gettign slimmer on looks nowadays which I don't prefer... Fat Z4 to skinny Z4, Fat E90 to skinny F30... I hope at least coupe gets better spice as E92 was way better than E90. |

I consider myself a BMW enthusiast and always admire every BMW I see on the road, but if I saw this car from a moderate distance (at these angles) I would bet money that it is an E90.

I agree. When the first F30 renders were released and it was speculated to look like the F10 5er, I was thinking let it be true, let it look like a mini 5er. I'm glad the F30 turned out the way it did. As for the interior of the sport and modern lines, it's going to take a while to get used to.

I'll say it again. It looks like a slightly smaller 5 series. I think it should be more edgy! I;m sure the M version will be, but....I think they went too conservative. IMO

Two points:
1) You can't please everybody! Bangle styling was viewed as too bold. Now some think styling is too bland. People complain or rave at first then vote 2) Traditionally BMW's have rather conservative styling. Its is part of the brand. Interesting, but essentially understated styling, particularly for the sedans. Style for BMW takes a slight backseat to performance. That's fine by me. I'm fully on board for the brand values, which are: First, performance then, in no particular order, style, luxury, premium-ness. I always think of BMW's decisions in the context of these long term values, rather than in isolation. In my option, the commitment to these values is what distinguishes them (and some other successful car mfgrs) from the also-rans. Others make a run at this "space" but can't sustain it and end up making models that don't endure over time.

From Car and Driver: Quote:
And then you all got used to it, helped along by the LCI which turned the vivacious and aggressive, yet noncontroversial E90 into a sedan even more representative of those characteristics. But the F10 5-series seemed, for better or worse, to have forgotten the E60 altogether. It was as if the E60 never existed. And that bothered a lot of you. Yet sales are high. But alas, here we are, with a newly designed 3-series--the F30--a noncontroversial design with a bit of pizzaz and a whole lot of flair. You all were shocked when the E90 came out as a subdued E60, wanting something even more subtle, and now that BMW has answered you with the F30, you don't like how boring it is? Boring? The car is most certainly not boring. Such an ugly thing to say, or even imply--boring. I'm bored of you because that's all you seem to be able to say about it. But I digress...the fact of the matter is, the F30 will still drive like a 3-series should--albeit probably a bit more comfortably. And as all new designs do, it will grow on you. And most of you will probably buy it. Not because it's boring, and not because it's outlandish, and not because it's somewhere in between. You will buy it because it's a BMW 3-series, and that's all the reason you'll ever need. |

You're just like every Porsche fan boy who hates the 991 Carrera S because it doesn't 'live up' to the GT3 RS 4.0. In other words, you're just looking for something to complain about. |
