Front End Collision 2015 320i

Was involved in a car accident. Insurance won't cover because I have only liability coverage, and the person who hit me has no insurance at all. I can only sue him civilly. I want to know how much this would potentially cost though

You'll need a new hood, a new fender, a new lamp, a new bumper, 3000+ maybe?

A new lamp is certain. Theres no bumper damage, I feel like the pics aren't an accurate depiction of where the damage is. The hood and fender is whats really damaged but I feel like I can get them fixed without needing a replacement though. Don't you think so?

4-7k depending if the fender apron is damaged.

I'd get an estimate and go to court. Easy

If he's at fault, have your piece of shit insurance company do their fkn job and go after the guys home owner/tenant insurance if possible.
I hit a guy who ran across the road and he bent the headlight bracket in. Cops came, seen he was drunk, he refused the ambulance, and I went on my way with a police report file #. 7 months later my insurance company finally did their job and made his house insurance pay for it.

Why don’t you go to a body shop and find out? You can’t get an estimate from pictures.

Sheesh that is actually crazy. Well yes, he's at fault and with no car insurance. But is my insurance even responsible for doing all that extra work? Like I said I only have liability coverage, not full coverage.
I was thinking getting it fixed and maybe just take him to civil court. That whole process takes months but at least I'd get my money back that I spent on the repairs.

Your right. Your insurance has no role in this as long as no one was hurt. It’s too bad that people don’t always read the OP. I had an accident. The other person was at fault. My insurance handled everything. But I had collision

Smart that you had collision. I'll definitely switch over to collision coverage as soon as I get my baby fixed. Lesson learned I guess

Had the same hit also on my last car, 2015 328d

I went through insurance but it was $4,995 including my collision deductible of $1,000

The other person was at fault so everything got reimbursed to me.

Correct, liability only covers others if you are at fault. But since it's his fault, his insurance will need to pay for your vehicle. You would have no coverage if it was your fault.

Even on a budget, uninsured motorist coverage is a necessity. Many people get insurance long enough to register their vehicles then quietly cancel it. Insurance companies are supposed to report this but somehow some slip through the cracks...

Yep. I had full coverage on my daughter's paid in full used car. It wasn't much more.
But for some reason, with a new car, full coverage is even cheaper!

When a car is financed, you have to have collision. Have to protect the banks. Think about if your car had been totaled. You were obviously taking a risk.

Yup I read the OP. I honestly can't recall if we had collision on that car. It was a totally paid off kia Rio.... doubtful that we had full coverage.

Depends on which state you live in. In Oklahoma, uninsured motorist coverage is medical only. Any damage to your vehicle from an uninsured motorist is covered by collision w/deductible.

Who doesn't have collision on a not so old BMW?!?!?! Sorry OP, that sucks for you. I had a similar fender bender on my 2015 4-series and it was $8K in damage. $1K alone for the headlight! (and my overall damage was so much less)

This is pretty much my assessment, too. $3,000 - $5,000.

Sorry but I don't think you can get these panels back to their original shapes, and the bumper is certainly deformed on the edge, there will be panel gap issues
