It would turn to steam and evaporate

Does your car catch on fire when it rains

Hey, neonnblack...

So, so sad! Or, as the politicians would say, "our thoughts and prayers are with you."

A similar thing happened to my 3351 Coupe and my insurance company wrote the car off as totaled. They sued BMW, who paid for my replacement car.

Whatever you do, DO NOT tell your insurance that you have modified your car in any way, shape or form. You don't want to be blamed (and held financially responsible) for this.

I'll chime in and suggest that you buy another F32! The only thing in its class that performs better is the new Alpha Romeo.

Best of luck,

Paul

And I'm not saying geico is really trying to help me out, but they've never done me wrong before. Through one at fault accident and some speeding tickets ive never had a rate increase. When i was rear ended they called and made sure to let them know if the other insurance was or wasn't taking care of everything so they could step in if needed.

Or maybe I'm getting lucky. Who knows.
Good luck. Sorry if this was mentioned earlier, but definitely negotiate if you feel your value is not correct. My wife totaled my old e46 2002 330 a few years ago and I had just put new tires and some new bmw parts to fix the car. I showed them the bills and although I did not recover full value they added $1000 to the price and I got around $6200 for 16 year old car. Put that as part of my down payment for my 2018 340.

Update, insurance called. Pay out amount is just shy of 21k. Good and fairly surprising news to me. Should be good to seriously look for a car by the end of the week.

Sorry about your car. Spontaneous combustion while in motion is scary Sh!t. Glad no one was hurt.

Nice too that your insurance co. was fair in their offer.

Have fun shopping for your new car.

Looks like engine must have turned off when the intake was burned up. The battery can be unplugged to turn off the light. These things are computers in wheels with a mind if their own. Must be something electrical. Sometimes less complex is better.

Looks fantastic.

Regretfully the 6MT seems to have been a casualty of the fire swap - RIP.

I enjoy the 8 speed auto sport though, hope you do too.

I see an aftermarket intake so there was a tune as well as the thing you mentioned so could be due to mods.

Too hard (and expensive) to find a 6mt 340. The 8 speed is fantastic though. Thanks.

I can see where you're coming from but i actually saw where it started from and it was the headlight area. An area i hadn't touched since owning it.

Unfortunately the world will never know.

It's over and done with now, but as you had recently replaced front bumper......

Not saying it's your fault but the timing doesn't exonerate either.

As you said, the world will never know.
