2017 Navigation Map Updates (Updated)

I definitely have the MOVE 2018-1 map (I also have NEXT maps, hence the confusion)

Unlike NEXT map updates where the extracted files have 1, 2, 3, 4 folders etc. the MOVE extracted maps do not.

haha yea true but being Route i have to purchase the FSC code everytime. BMW had a black friday offer on so i took advantage of that for £50 for 2 years.

guess i just haveto wait for them to play catch up not a lot else i can

EVO is always NBT2, even if ID4 or ID5/6.

NBT = NEXT
NBT2 = EVO

Why are you swapping one EVO for another? Just to go from ID4 to ID5/6? If you have factory fitted EVO ID4, and they replace it with ID5/6, it will most likely be ECE version, so you will no longer have Sat Radio tuner if that matters to you.

Ok. Well, all you should have to do is copy everything inside the NAVD_0000085F_255_004_240 folder to the root of a Fat32 Formatted (NOT NTFS or ExFat) USB Flash Drive, and insert in car.

As suspected - it's always the simple things...

Car has USB slot in the glovebox, which works straight away.

While it is technically possible to flash ID4 to ID5, no, I don't recommend it at all.

ID4 Hardware has 2 Gb of Ram. ID5 has 4 Gb. If you flash ID4 Hardware with ID5 Firmware, it will run slow, and suffer frequent reboots as it does not have enough memory. You will also need new ID5 Map FSC Code, which is expensive. Also, unless car has a functional ATM module, you will loose all Telemtics (e.g. RTTI).

Is there a way to update maps when USB is not working in the car ? With Business and Move maps. USB is in the armrest but it seems that there is no cable connected to it. Glovebox does not have USB, only black cover. Can it be done with DVD somehow ?

No, CHAMP Head Unit is CD Player not DVD. I think dealer can udpate with ISTA is USB not work.

And if i interstood correctly the FSC code are different between iD4 and iD5/6.

NBT Map is NEXT Map and NBT2 Map is EVO.

NBT2 ID4 and NBT2 ID5/6 are same map, but FSC Code is different.
