Not getting the horn

Hi All, I had to use my horn as a warning for the first time yesterday and I have to admit I was a bit embarrassed by the sound of it, I was expecting a big beefy duel horn instead I got a noise that reminds me of Noddy’s car. Is this how it’s meant to sound or is one of the duel horns not working? The car is a 2014 F31 going and it’s going into BMW for its 3 year inspection next month.

It's a known fault that the low tone horn goes for some reason. Had it on my previous f31 after it was about 6 moths old. It's covered under warranty.

It is kind of embarrassing first time you go to use it and it sounds like that!

My 63 plate F31 had the same.

Hadn't realised that this was still a problem on BMWs. Same happened on my F10 about 6 years ago.

You would have thought that they have had long enough to solve it, although their track record at dealing with problems isn't great - corroding running boards / failing panoramic roofs / corroding alloy wheels / fogging front and rear lights to name but a few...

I lost my horn. Then got a new one. Then I lost my horn again. I'm considering a life without my horn now.
