"We Buy Any Car" - anybody actually used them..???

I have been offered a pretty good price for my Golf by "We Buy Any Car"...

However, it would, of course, be subject to an inspection...

With a low mileage, high spec, 2 year old car with no damage and in top class condition, I am wondering how likely I am to actually get that price after inspection...

Anybody had any experience of using them...?

Used them a couple of times, know your bottom line figure, and go knowing they will knock it for something or other. You can discuss this but it’s down to the individual valuer as to how harsh they will be.

Prepare to walk away if your not happy but other than that it’s been a useful service.

I have also used them a couple of times, as stated above they will probably find something to knock the value down and also if I remember correctly there is various charges for same day money transfer etc.

However as the used car market is strong they are probably keen for all the stock they can get.

As said previously you can always test the water and walk away if not happy, just be prepared to do the deal then and there if happy, I took my train fare with me

By high spec I mean it comes already loaded with goodies and there were a few options boxes ticked, also... and I agree with you, I don't really think that makes much difference as they don't ask what the car is other than the details listed under the reg....

Thanks for the feedback, folks... In the end, I managed to agree with the dealer that they would p/ex the car and we could agree on the value of that, so I don't need to actually go through the the WBAC process... But the feedback was very helpful, thanks...

we used WBAC on the wifes i10 when we were about to trade in.

accurately described the car and we got within £200 of the price they said online. £600 more than trade in. All on a £6600 car.

I know you’ve done deal ,but the mrs traded her GLC to WbAC for 1.5 K more than any dealer were offering as px inc a Mercedes dealer. I was amazed. Yes they knocked down £350 from on line price, but still we were well up.

Currently getting offered about £2k more for my M3 than dealer is offering as px for a car I’m looking at.

I've posted this link before but it shows what they are going for, so this may be why the offer for yours is increasing, nearly 31k!!

(As now reserved look at the finance box to see for sale price.)

Order the M135i just over a week ago and Sytner offered £19k part ex for my 420i GC, told them I'd look at selling to webuyanycar or motorway as they were offering £20k.
Was checking valuations now I've taken my plate off and Sytner showing £20k and motorway £21k. Hope these prices hold for another month but I doubt it as they seem to be all over the place.

I have never known anyone get the price WBAC originally offered on-line for their car!
They will always knock you down to a lower price when you take your car for inspection. All part of their modus operandi!

I'd like to see them try and knock £2k of the price on my car which is excellent condition as it only has 8150 miles on the clock.

I actually sold a E85 Z4 3.0si through WBAC years ago... did an initial quote.. and almost each week they offered more.

After a couple of weeks i took it for inspection and they tried to knock off £100 for a scratch - which as i just polished the car knew there were no marks - got the microfibre out and the white mark rubbed off.

So they had no option but to offer me the online price for it.

Yes, used them once, got a very good price all considered, whole process was hassle-free. They are owned by British Car Auctions, I believe, so their spot prices reflect demand for a particular make/model/age combo at a specific point in time so can fluctuate significantly.

I've found evans halshaw to be more flexible on condition when selling a car.

Sold my 335d to them when it hit 3 years old, pretty much got private sale price.

Well I highly recommend Motorway.co.uk. Just sold my Golf through them and got over £2k more than WBAC.

You take pictures, upload them their website then your car goes in a 1 day closed auction with dealers bidding on your car. You get an email at 3:00pm with the highest offer. I was gob smacked TBH with the price I got and was more than their original estamite.

Bought by a VW main dealer they came and collected it today. Now I have a big deposit to put towards my next car.
