Another new car… Back into a BMW…

So, I just agreed to buy a new M135i…

I got a really nice deal from my local dealer on a factory build car that included taking in my Golf GTI in p/ex… They bettered the internet prices I was getting on the new car and also (I thought) helped minimise the impact of -ve equity in my Golf (which was not massive, but, every £ helps)…

So they made doing the deal pretty easy, especially considering I will not be making a ,one journey to collect and I will not have to be messing about selling my car separately...

June delivery expected, so now need to get a booking in with the detailers for its new car prep and protection…

So, for the spec geeks, here it is… Feel free to tell me where I should have saved/spent my money…

M135i Auto
Misano Blue
18” Standard Wheels
Standard Interior
Berlin Trim
HK Sound
Enhanced BT and wireless charging
Power boot (getting old)
Steering wheel heating (getting old)
Through Load
Lumbar Support
Icon Adaptive Lights
Driving Assistant
Parking Assistant
Comfort Access

Not every option box ticked, but a fair few of them…

Thankfully, I seem to have found a dealer looking to do business, and we came to a good agreement...

I decided to ago with the standard wheels in the end then just see how I feel about 19's later on... but having seen a few cars with them on now (the dealers seem to have plenty of them) I found myself actually preferring the more underrated look... and also the insurance is better on the standard wheels...

... and I think the blue suits the nature of the car...

I realised I could have put that against half the options...

I just remember somebody on here, a few years ago, rather sniffy commenting on the "driver aids" that they were perfectly capable of doing the job themselves...

I'd be very interested to hear what deal you got as I'm really considering this as my next. PM me if you'd prefer not to widely share with the world. Which dealer was it?
If I was going with the 18" wheels, I'd certainly consider adding the adaptive suspension. For some reason, it's not available with the 19".

Great car but wrong wheels, sorry. The 19s totally make the M135i and really help the appearance.

I do like the 19 s on the 135 , esp the two tone darker ones. I'd take the plus pack and go with them myself but ETTO.
I saw a storm grey one last week up at West Stow Anglo Saxon village last week with those wheels which looked great actually. I'd still go misano blue if I was paying.

One question is holding me back. Can you get a set of golf clubs in the boot?

After looking at used and new car options I placed an order for an Alpine White M135i yesterday, delivery expected first week of June. I only went to check out the rear space/access of the M235, My 420i GC has just passed the point of clearing the finance so thought why not.

Great spec and choice...18s for me all day long, especially with how crashy runflats are...assuming they are still standard.

Not all about aesthetics, about comfort too!

From what I've read no 1 series come with runflats now. All the ones I've looked at had tyre inflator in the boot and non runflats.

Very nice, the standard interior is for me the best option as well, 18" will give a better ride and handling balance too as often the passive springs on the smaller wheels is "the" sweet spot.

Well... this is, of course, a matter of opinion...

For me, I absolutely did not want the sun protection glass, so 18's it was, as you cannot have 19's without the glass...

But here's the deal... I looked at lots of stock cars over the last few days, on all wheels... and, in the flesh, the 18's look great and, to me, the 19's look too much.. as they do on my golf, also... The colour of the 18's really does not come out on the configurator.. and they look quite different to the ones on 118's...

Also, I am not really a fan of adaptive on cars, thinking the passive set up on standard wheels is often the best...

Also, if i really do want 19" later, then I can add them... less easy to get rid of sun protection glass as I found out on my old 330d...

I get your point, every one is different
I wanted missano blue with red leather (reversing camera and tinted windows) but nothing was in stock or transit when i was buying my and deal was to good to miss on this one white.

I'm not sure if it's still the case but the 18s originally came with some Eco tyres.

The 19s are not on run flats and give an excellent ride.

Totally agree that wheel choice is a matter of opinion. I went to the dealer on launch day keen to order an M 135i with just metallic as the only option. They had one on 18s and one on 19s with the Plus Pack side by side and there was no doubt to me which looked the much nicer car.

Hence I now have an M135i with Plus Pack in Misano Blue.

The options I absolutely wanted in priority order was alpine white, sun protection glass, front/rear sensors, folding mirrors, heated seats and cruise. As all these apart from sun protection are standard that's the only thing I added. This will be my 4th new Alpine white car in a row now, I also wanted to stick to 18s.
I went down the list of options and all the packs had something I didn't need or want. The options I did consider were pan roof which we have on the JCW but was more for the kids. Comfort access again the JCW has but I'm use to living without it. HUD, yes the JCW has but I find I never use the dials and as the BMW has the live cockpit it's not needed.
So gone "poverty" spec which I know won't be to everyone's taste but I'll be happy once the car lands.
