440i Gran Coupe (67) - exhaust suggestions

Hi guys,

New to the forums and BMW.

Picked up my 440i GC in Snapper Rocks Blue and I love it.

I had hoped to pick one up with the MPPSK already fitted but found one with every option except that and decided to go for it.

I've spoken to a local garage and can get the M Performance exhaust (just back box and carbon tips) for £850 fitted.

They are also offering the MPPSK with carbon tips for £1750.

My main draw to doing it was to improve the sound as I really like the pops and crackles from the full MPPSK but I'm not too fussed on the power gain.

What would be a good alternative to this that is cheaper?

Cheers,

Matt

1750 for the full MPPSK is a pretty good deal.

Buy from ebay for 1200£ with chrome tips !

If you can take some time and ship one kit you can buy two kits and send one over to me in Sweden

The MPE does improve sound, but I would say not as much as the MPPSK, as the MPPSK removes a resonator in the mid pipe and bypasses the backbox when the flaps are open.
The MPE does not have any flaps, so you cant turn it down so to speak in comfort etc, but it does always run through the backbox. You could always get an exhaust place to remove the mid resonator if you wanted.

BCS make a mid section to complement the M Performance backbox.

But I would buy the full mpssk from BMW which would cost around the same price - £1200 + £204 (Chrome Tips) fitting at BMW Crewe.

Regardless of the exhaust choice, please post pictures of your car. MPPSK is a sound choice without any warranty risks.

Fyi if you buy it off ebay, it will only be the exhaust without the remap and it will not have pops actual MPPSK cars have.

Thanks everyone, think I will go down the full MPPSK route, can't be a bad thing have the extra power and the cost of it seems to be fairly similar across the board

Makes sense to go down the BMW route

If mine was still under warranty I would do the same but as an M Performance silencer with BCS mid section came up in the classifieds for £450 I decided to give it a go.

Recorded a quick video clip, sounds awesome on WOT.
