I hear Elite Motors on Rt46 in Lodi does some really good work. Custom tunes as well. I may go to them for a Noelle Performance tune for my 340i.

Elite Motors do not install customer supplied parts anymore. Drive Auto Works in Mountainside gave me a quote for $800. Eurosport of Westfield will get back to me later today.

KMD TUNING in Saddle Brook

AUTO COUTURE in Fairlawn

APEX AUTOWERKZ in Clifton

All great shops with great techs and reasonable prices. I've used each shop for different things as they all quote different prices for the same job. Apex in Clifton has a dyno too that is 100 bucks for 3 pulls. They also offered cutouts tuning options.

Just got my car back from Drive Auto Works in Mountainside, paid $850 total. I got a trip to Maine on the 4th. So far I don't think there is any boost leak. I'm running BM3 stage 1 91 Octane(6.4), 10% reduction on all gears. I only logged going home and couldn't do any pulls but I did floor it once and pre-boost showed 13 and actual boost shows 13.

It pulls way harder with no change in tune, just full boltons.

I chose 5" HD FMIC because of little turbo lag, I actually got less turbo lag because of all boltons.

All the other shops I called/emailed never got back to me and I need my car for the trip.

I noticed a bit of overboost(higher boost than pre boost) after I let go of the gas pedal, I think that's the DV+ upgrade keeping the boost pressure.
I also noticed higher IATs from driving 20 min in under 30 MPH traffic. At the end of the trip(20 min) it was at 107 F. Heatsoak from Bar & Plate design I'm guessing. (83F outside)
I did just install AFE scoop which I hope will keep the IATs low.

As long as I don't hit 120 I'm ok with these numbers.

I am going to install NGK Step Colder after the trip and do an XPH flash & BM3 Stage 2 Flash.

Then I guess I'll dyno at Apex in Clifton if it's only $100.

I think I'll do a full write up on the forums after I dyno and I play with the spark plugs and the tunes.

Couple things here:

Overboost is totally normal after throttle, it happens on completely stock cars.

Afe scoop generally doesn't help IATs, have yet to see a log showing so.

If you're worried about temps, your best bet is Water Wetter. It's truly incredible.

Lastly- turn that boost up. Go stage 2. Your car deserves it

jdg54 I'm going to change out my stock spark plugs for step colder NGK, thinking of gaping to .024. I see some pulled timings on bank 1,2,3,4 (no knock). I'm hoping spark plugs fix it.

I have flashed to BM3 Stage 1 91 Octane(7.1) removed cat heating and removed burbles. Car doesn't smell as much like gas anymore.

Just came back from vacation (Over 300 miles each way). I love how the car pulls once it hits boost, it just wants to go. Driving it is so much fun, once I hit boost, the car digs in and pulls. Hearing turbo spool is also fun.

There is some drone/vibration 1.8-2.8k RPM when car is in pre-boost but it's not that bad. I also noticed that temperature reading is 5F+ over than what's outside and its a bit hotter in the car, had to turn AC on. Should've been 70F outside but was showing 80F.

I'm going to flash tranny via XHP to stage 2 before going BM3 Stage 2 because from reading the forums, torque limiter on gear 3 & 6 will cut power. Stock handles 330 TQ while stage 2 BM3 was dynod at 430 TQ.

I've seen on the forums, the Afe scoop may lower IATs by maybe 1-2F, also lower IATs from standing at red light. Can't hurt either way.

I didn't get a chance to log tho.

Plugs should help. How much timing were you pulling? If it's under 3 degrees I generally disregard it, that's normal corrections even for a stock motor. You should skip to stage 3 for XHP and customize it accordingly. Customize it and raise torque across the board for sure.

NGK 2 step colder did help thank you. I did have to put the cat back for inspection and switched to stage 1 93 octane and I did notice my oil temps run a bit hotter but not out of norm. I will be looking to replace with Wagner Sport Cat unless anyone has any recommendations.
