Not to rub salt into to the wound, but you could have got one of these:

https://burgertuning.com/products/bm...6ee23be4&_ss=r

I got one to replace the original cap in the hope that the heat shedding property of aluminum might extend the life of the infamous filter housing gasket. It looks nice too. I got red, to match my oil catch can. Since the wrench you got came scratched maybe BMS would give you a no hassle return towards an aluminum cap.

I saw those too, lol but that would have cost me another $30+ bones to get that, the cap tool is just half of that price, if anything i can just leave it on there and pretend it looks like the permanent billet one...

I'd be fearful that the wrench would become dislodged & fall into the belts, fan or worse.
Did you show BMS the nick? Perhaps they can provide a remedy - partial refund or gift certificate.
Good luck!

I emailed them about that nick, no response so far after 48hrs..

Updated today on 3/31/20: i contacted BMS Team and asked either for a return refund, they offered me back 20% of the cost and to keep it. Apprently they are having issues with the shipping company as the company is not being too careful with some of their inventory upon shipping it out, i hope they can clear up this issue going forward as i want to obtain the Wheel Spacer's they sell in the future..

I paid less than $20 for one off Amazon, some are as cheap as $10. It works great, never any issues getting the filter cap off. Also, it's never a big deal if I drop it or just toss it in my toolbox.

I was hunting thru Amazon first before i decided to get this one as i didn't like alot of the reviews i was seeing on several choices, some even broke their oil filters as it got either stuck or cracked it. So i decided to take out a loan and get this one instead from a top leader in billet products lol..

I'm resisting the urge to earmark my stimulus check for car parts.

Much prefer this versus a metal cap. Plastic is less likely to cause an issue if accidentally cross threaded.
