actually in my country the law requires full driving lights in winter time.
DRL are not enough

this is why its annoying that I cannot use the dimmer settings on the HU based on if i turn on the lights or not.

Idrive resolution not correct

I am currently pulling my hair out with the Idrive screen in association with my snapdragon android unit.

My car is a 2015 F30 with ENTRYNAV so afaik it should display the idrive side in full widescreen and not stretched etc.

I have Bimmercode on my phone and have programmed the screen in expert mode to 8.8 1280x480.

DISPLAY VARIENTE - Brites mode

I have then changed the android side to 8.8,10.25 and I get the fullscreen but the right third is cut off (pictured)

The 6.5" fullscreen is extremely stretched but works as the 6.5" with overlay.

I have then tried changing the bimmercode to the 10.25 1280x480 setting and still have no success having tried all the android settings for display res.

Is there something I am missing here? Has this happened to anyone else here?

Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

if you have a px6 rk3399 unit, remove the aux plug under the armrest.
makes a big difference, does apparently nothing for the snapdragon devices.

Armrest AUX does not go directly to HU, but goes to combox once. So in the Android harness, the AUX is bypassed, the audio runs backwards, enters the BOX and comes to the armrest. Therefore, I guess that resistance is born and the sound becomes muddy.

I found the treble was awful at louder volumes with my snapgradon unit.

I discovered that my android media volume was at 40 (highest level) so turned it down to 20 and that fixed the harsh treble. I have the HK system and the aux cable is connected in the wiring harness.

I have a PX6 10.25 9.0 and I fix my sound problems when I disconnect the Bluetooth dongle i was using to stream music since my HU is an entry and no capable to stream just have the phone option so I disconnect the dongle from the aux/usb port under the center arm rest and "voila" ... my guessing is that the steaming at some point is having conflicts if is connected through the Bluetooth device and the Android display, now I have a very nice and loud sound including deep bass the way you cannot make comparison between your "original sound" and "the Android sound" also here are my sound setups

It does in my case . Disconnecting AUX in armrest makes a big difference - before, sound was muffled .

Yup this is right and also as soon your headlights turn on on the dusk the screen dims itself no settings needed for this

You can control the brightness manual in the camera settings from launcher, thats right.
But you have no possibility on the side of the android. You can not do it with a program about sunrise/sunset, timer, scheduler or whatever.
You can do it with your fingers, that's all.

What is the time that triggers the change between day and night ?
Thanks for your feedback !

At the moment it doesn't switch automatically.

I'm working on a new version that switch day/night mode automatically based on offical sunrise/sunset of your location.
I'm also adding custom presets so you can switch between brightness using a button.

It's almost done with it so I will release it soon.

As Svenson said, you must go to the default settings, go to the right menu on change the value by hand. It can't be hard while driving and pretty frustating. My app add some automation to the brightness control.

So New version is 3.0.8, i reuploaded it to wetransfer you can download it HERE for the next couple days. (link update, valid until 11.11.2019)
Edit 12.11.19: someone did a reupload at Mega.nz

But be warned this seems to be a Beta version, alot of internal changes have been made and not fully implemented yet.

What i found out so far

* Changeable MUSIC APP
* Aux in Position Selection, when "Other" AUX is selected, no function at CIC ?
* Text Updates to a lot of languages, german update just wrong
* change BOOTLOGO Support is coming back, the one which is before the bootanimation, not completely implemented
* new SevenColor Dashboard, now with distance left display, (wtf why 330km/h (205mp/h )
* Heavy internal update to GS UI, seems to be programmed for AVINUSA
* AHD Camera Support ?
* Better Support for 1920*720 Displays ?
* km / milage change option at source code - no function yet.
* Phone Button Behaviour has been changed

So far it seems they are working hard on updating the System again.
Changing the Music button is very cool, now you can select your Favorite Music app !
There is just one note, with ID5 ID6 and GS UI, you completley loose functionality of internal Music player.
With ID7 you can have both, while the Large music button stays the old one, the small Music Button at the top left corner only will be changed to your desired music app !.

The AHD and 7Dashboard requires new lines at factory_config.xml, so i added an updated here.

Bootscreen selection is also coming back, the function is not working at the GUI at the moment, but when moving a correct "splash.img" to the oem folder it will be updated.
At the moment no own images can be made as the .img file format is very special and has not been reverse engineered yet.

There was also an MCU Update with this package for E Series CIC, i updated it (had update from 245 before) , but did not see any difference in behaviour.

As always Update at your own risk !

Chri
Can I use the factory_config.xml from Chri's post for my head unit?
