Front door speakers

Hey I know I haven't posted in a while but I'm just wondering.... since I've already added a sub in my trunk through the technic pnp harness, I'm considering changing my front door speakers, maybe even the tweeters. But I'm wondering if I don't go the bavsound route, and go with something aftermarket, will I have to code the aftermarket speakers in order for them to work or just do my wiring correctly. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hope everyone is staying healthy and safe.

You would just have to splice the wires. No coding should be needed. From my understanding however, it's better to just upgrade the amp before upgrading your speakers.

While it's possible that there may be speakers that are an improvement over stock there's no confirming data from any of the replacement speaker manufacturers I'm aware of that proves it. OTOH I have conducted tests on the speakers in my Hi-Fi system that shows them to be very high quality, so the chances of replacements being better are slim at best. If there are improvements to be made it's in the amp, specifically the DSP EQ.

IF you have the Harman Kardon factory upgraded system... try this before anything else (doesn't work on non-HK stock system):

I made this change as soon as I purchased the Bimmercode app + OBD2 scanner, and all I can say is it made BIG difference in the way the stereo sounds now! Best of all it's completely reversible at any time.

I went to a local high-end car audio store. Went in looking for new speakers, and the store owner told me the base BMW speakers are fine - the problem is the crappy amplifier.

He was right - I had him install a new amp (https://www.audiotec-fischer.de/en/m...ifiers/up-7bmw), and WOW!

In early February, I picked a new to me '18 F34. The BMW dealer was nice enough to move my amp to my new car - the difference between my test drive and the post-amp install was significant. And once I loaded the tune for the GT, it was even better.
