Answers in red.

I now just need to pull the trigger on M&H tires, as M/T has been having me wait since 11/2011. It spins but it still has some decent forward momentum. Can wait to full get traction.

Removed passenger seat, rear seat, and exhaust.

Eventually plan to do things differently and actually take more total weight than what I recently just did. I will just go about it in a completely different way.

Id be curious if changing the first gear shift point to 4500 and 2nd to 5500 shaves off more time.

Do you mean lowering the shift point? The car shifts early when DTC kicks in (my car does the same thing). Leaving it in auto might let the car optimize but i would be curious if doing the same launch in manual mode with DTC but intentionally upshifting later (closer to 6k in 1-2, 2-3) would be faster. It might be worse then you would be fighting DTC even more, though.

Isnt S the fastest way to shift? You set shift points in xhp and let it rip. Ive heard s+ isnt always the fastest either. May have to try comfort.

Wait what? Shifter to the left is the fastest shift speed, yes, with XHP or without. If that's what you mean by "S".

In terms of drive mode, you definitely need to be in sport or sport+ if you have XHP to get the fastest shift speeds, particularly in manual mode. There lots of discussion in the XHP thread(s) around the fact that the car actually responds slower to manual shift inputs (paddle or shifter) in comfort with XHP than without XHP, because of the way it changes the mapping. Its extremely noticeable when you manually shift. Not entirely sure if there is any difference between sport and sport+ but a huge difference between either and comfort.

I have custom shiftpoints in XHP also but when i was talking about manually shifting instead of leaving it in "S" (shifter to the left) and sport +, i was just speaking to controlling the 1-2 and 2-3 shift rather than having it auto upshift early due to spinning/DTC.

I've never heard sport+ isnt the fastest shift speed so I'm curious to know where you read that since it goes against everything i have ever observed or seen reported. On XHP stage 3 for me there is a huge difference between comfort and sport+, especially when the shifter is to the left.

not sure you can control where the trans shifts at wot if you are in kickdown mode can you?

so of you launch with launch control you'd have to back off the throttle to disengage kickdown in order for the trans to auto shift at the set wot shift points..

am I wrong?

I know XHP allows you to configure shift points without kickdown depressed, i just cant remember if there is a 2nd column for WITH it depressed. I know right now my custom shift points are only without, and if i press the kickdown, it defaults back to the stock ~6900 upshifts. It's just been a long time since i set that and looked at the XHP app.

Does LC require the kickdown to be depressed or just 100% pedal input? I've literally only used it once and it was like 3 years ago when my car was stock lol.

EDIT, maybe not using MAX RPM setting. Per XHP: "Max. RPM
Enables users to setup their own shift points for WOT. (= Wide Open/Full Throttle). “Max. RPM” can be setup separately for D, S and M mode. Please note, these values are only used when not activating the Kickdown. (threshold at the end of the throttle travel)"

However maybe you can use the shiftmap editor and use the % slider for upshifts to achieve the same thing? It doesnt say depressing kickdown resets those.

When i say s mode i mean shifter to the left. I think thats a given for fastest times.

I saw a member on here say that 1st gear should be shifted at 4500, second at 5500, and the rest at 6000. No idea the reasoning. But would be interesting to see the times.

I cant find where i saw something about comfort mode being the best. Ill have to dig that up. I think they said it was the combination of comfort and traction all the way off.

Lastly, my dtc never kicks in going in a straight line. Probably because i have x drive.

Guy there is claiming stock HPFP but his fastest time/mph exactly match a 2 series in your spreadsheet under a slightly different name with FX-150? I dont have insta nor follow these types of things but something looks suspicious.

I think he clarified it. He originally said 11.29 was on stock fuel system but i guess the 11.59 was on stock fuel system then he later upgraded HPFP, so he was just quoting the wrong number. Also i guess his name changed or something.

Hey that's me! To clarify 11.59 stock fuel system with e30(stock hpfp was struggling to keep rail pressure), 11.47 same map on a fx-150 no revisions(hardware change so Cary would not revise) 11.29 on the fx-150 new map, early revision with e50 in the tank.

Going to the strip tomorrow night. Excited to get the first 6MT time on the board. Anyone have suggestions/experience related to launching a 6MT/RWD car?

Terrible drag racing tire. 245/30/20 MPS4S. Track is usually prepped alright. I can get away with "dumping" the clutch at 2.5k on the street with minimal wheelspin. Probably gonna start with that and go from there.
