new hid bulb needed

Had the dipped beam failure warning message on my dash the night before last so I presume I need a new bulb.
Any recommendations for the best bulbs to go for? I wouldn't mind a whiter light if that might be possible.

Osram D1S bulbs are generally what most folk go for. Xenarc Nightbreaker or Cool Blue Intense. c£100 for a pair via Amazon etc

However for years now with my BMWS using xenons I've used Lunex D1S xenons (D2Ss in my older E39s etc) and they're less than 1/2 price of the xenons because they're not over marketed like lots of stuff...

They're UK made, made from the correct quartz glass and range from 4300k to 8000k etc...

You'll find them on Amazon and Ebay

I replaced my lamps with Osram Nightbreaker Lasers last year and they're much better than the standard lamps [I can now see where I'm going when its dark and wet] but not as bright as some BMWs lamps I've jealously converted - see no help whatsoever.

I have a few pairs of upgraded xenon HID bulbs that I’ve removed from previously owned cars.
Philips & Osram mostly.

I don’t need them anymore as my F31 has LEDs.
If you know what type you need, just let me know.

That would be amazing thanks

I'm after D1S bulbs if you have them. Happy to send a DM if that's ok with you?

Do you find that buying UK made headlight bulbs for your German car makes much difference to the economy of the UK?

No; but it's sometimes nice to see UK industry still making stuff here in the UK

And it's always good to keep the pennies in Blighty

So, I found a pair of Philips Xenstart D1S bulbs, which are OEM spec & a couple of pairs of D3S upgrades.
I’ll upload some photos soon.

These are the Philips D1S bulbs.
Don’t be fooled by the boxes (as I was initially!). I checked the marking on the back of the bulbs & they are in fact Philips Xenarcs.
Had these fitted to my Saab 9-3 Turbo X, and seem to remember they were a right pain to fit - removal of all sorts of things to get to the headlight covers!
