Bridgestone Blizzak LM-32 RFT
205/60 R16 92H on my 320d ED. Definite benefit at temperatures of 7c or less. Have had them on since early November.

I fit them myself so if things suddenly go arctic I can switch fairly quickly. But I see no issues switching, tyres wont be dangerous but might wear a bit more than normal. |

I'm still using my winters. Even thoughs it's not been cold or snowed, performance in the rain wet has been great.
With all the rain we've had when I've driven through water there's little to none aqua planing. I drove up to Edinburgh the scenic route on Christmas Eve when it was chucking it down and noticed the difference straight away.

March!?
The weather (near me anyway) has been a tad warm so no real benefit from Winter tyres past few weeks, if too warm one could actually argue worse performance than decent summers according to reviews and experience; But considering the amount of heavy rain we've had they're still going to out perform but I fear March you may be pushing it perhaps. At work we use The Michelin Alpin A4's (Not a RWD BMW though) and I am very impressed with them last year and was going to get a set for my motor but actually went with the Goodyear Ultragrip 8's and found them stunning in the snow and very cold... I get my F30 tomorrow and atm it is sitting on Summers (not even sure what type...) so will see how it feels

I think you just have to play it by ear. You just don't know what the weathers going to be like a week from today let alone a month. The two weeks before mine arrived on Dec 10th, we had that cold snap. Coldest winter in 100 years, odds on for a white Christmas etc etc. Look at it now, mild and chucking it down.
I've definitely noticed the difference in the dry with winters. I was actually getting car sick because of the feeling I got in my stomach when I planted my foot from stationary on 19's. Now, I cant get that same feeling on these winter 18's. Imagine all the ice if the temperature did drop now.
