iOS 14 update and iDrive
What's up everyone
Just wondering if anyone else is having issues with Bluetooth/USB on any model BMW after upgrading to iOS 14. I believe the iOS update has Bluetooth issues but I was on the beta for months without any issues. Once the final build released, I'm having a whole bunch of disconnecting, unable to play, and songs just pausing or skipping from the HUD. I can skip one song using the radio button or "skip" button using the iDrive controller, but using the scroll wheel on the steering wheel to skip multiple songs pretty much just crashes and doesn't play until I resume the song on my phone. iOS is up to date. iDrive software is up to date as well.

I definitely had issues with my 2018 340i with ID 6 when I first updated my phone to iOS 14. But I believe there was an iOS 14.0.1 that pretty much ironed out most of the issues for me with wireless Apple car play.
There is an iOS 14.1 that’s out, I have not updated to that version yet. Check your latest iOS on your phone and make sure you have he latest update. |

I’m not up to date on all this software stuff so you probably know way more than me. Isn’t 14.2 still in beta? I thought the iOS 14.1 is the official release that got pushed today.

Actually you're right. I forgot I'm on the beta program, I removed myself but forgot to restore to go back to 14.1. I'm guessing 14.2 has some Bluetooth bugs. Will update when I restore.

That is what my phone just updated to — 14.1. So far so good for me. I did not have any noticeable issues with iOS 14. I certainly hope it stays that way.

So I removed myself from the beta program a few days ago, but was still on iOS 14.2, however, you still need to force your phone into recovery mode and "update" back to official releases. So now I'm back on iOS 14.1 with 0 issues. I'm just hoping 14.2's official release doesn't cause the same issue.

Your response is unrelated to the original question. I suggest you start a new post specifically to address your issue, and provide more details, as because of now, nobody could begin to offer suggestions.

I had this the moment I updated to iOS 14. On 14.6 with my 2014 F07, it shows paired and connected under the iDrive Connected Drive menu but under the multimedia menu, it is not listed. Playing a song forces it to connect 80% of the time. Sigh.
