Issue with Ista+

Hi I bought a hard drive with ista installed on it with a “one click installer” because I figured it would be easier. Ista P works no problem but when I try and open Ista+ this is what pops up. Does anyone know how to fix this?

you may need to re-install ista.

what installer did you run? that 2nd screenshot can sometimes be cleared by updating the version info in the registry but you need to know what databases version were installed.

I bought the hard drive from https://www.bimmerdiagnostics.com

It appears to be ista 4.32.17

Does something need to be downloaded for the one click installer? I just opened the ista file and that is what I got.

so you got 4.32.15 that doesn’t have the license. If you bought the hdd from them and it should be pnp (plug-n-play), i’d go back to them to fix the problem.

from the looks of it, ista shouldve been installed already on the hdd, so it should’ve been ready to go out of the box but something isn’t right. did you have to download anything or you just open the Ista icon on desktop and this is the error you get?

I just opened ista and this is what I got. I didn’t download anything. I sent them an email last Friday but haven’t heard anything back from them.

go into registry and browse to the path in the screenshot and snap a pic what is listed under the Ista folder and post it here.

that’s not the right path.

should be computer\hkey_local_machine\software\wow6432node\b mwgroup\ispi\ista

that pic is going to current_user.
