coding

Can you code the mirrors to fold in when using the comfort access (door handle) vs. using the fob? I find I rarely use my fob, but if I could code the mirrors to fold in by locking the door via touching the door handle, that would be great.

Mine close as long as you hold the button down on the door handle....no coding for that!

Picked up a pristine grey 2015 328i xDrive GT last Thursday and joined. Been a Audi guy for so long...but I digress. Downloaded BimmerCode and bought the adapter. Went through everything on the screen seemed great except for 2 things: Lights flash when lock/unlock and fold mirrors when lock/unlocking.

Anyone more experienced with BC can give me a clue? Thanks all

Thought I'd follow myself up and close this out in case any others may have run into the same newbie issues. On lights flashing, once coded, you have to go into the Menu under settings and tick the box. As far as folding mirrors just set to No Delay. All good now.

It’s on the hatchback boot, where you press to close to boot

I coded my 2014 334 GT when I got it, and the dealer just flashed new software (like new-new, some of the GUI is updated, and it looks like the 2019 X3 loaner I had).

I used esys in windows with an OBD2 ethernet adaptor the first time. It was a little clunky... But very powerful. This is the first I've heard of Bimmercode. I'm familiar with Carly, but I emailed them some F34-specific questions and they said they didn't have those codes yet (like comfort-closing the Hatch, which my 2014 can't do)

Can Bimmercode do everything esys can? Is it better than Carly?

Thanks!

eSys is the best for coding.

I don't know if bimmercode is better than Carly but it is a far easier to use than e-sys. Especially if you are sitting in the car with the laptop balances on your lap slowly cooking you!!!

The develop is very decent as well and answers queries very promptly.

I probably would say e-says is more powerful but it comes with a far steeper learning curve and the need for tokens every year.

Since the cost of admission was relatively low, I bought a BT OBD adaptor and turned on coding in the Bimmercode app. Carly's cost was higher.

I did eSys coding on this car when I first got it, so I'm no stranger to the software... and how inconvenient it is. Since the dealership recently wiped everything out with a software update, I decided to redo everything (almost) using Bimmercode.

I've been able to code just about everything that I had before, except for a few things. I can't change my build date (VO coding is not possible), so I can't make my hatch comfort-close... and I suspect that the Bimmercode app isn't coding my trip reset correctly, since changing it off of the default 4hr point made it freeze and never reset, in spite of coding it a few times (default > 1hr > every ride > 4hr). The start time is now stuck at --:--, and the elapsed time and total mileage have been increasing for days.

I emailed the developer of the app (info@bimmercodeapp.com) and I've gotten a few responses, but not particularly helpful ones yet. This may be due to the nature of my problem, so please don't interpret this as negative feedback.

That is one point I didn't think about - year of manufacture. I have a 2015 320d so I managed to code boot closing.

The main coding I wanted to do was coasting and set evo mode as default - I drive 25000 miles minimum a year and diesel is £1.30 a litre so anything that increases mpg is welcome..

Only other thing was I ended up with a Chinese car logo on my dash for a month!!!

I just had CodeMyBimmer in Toronto code my GT - most of their typical features. A very easy process.

What do you have to code to get the trunk central lock button working?
