First of all use the Ofcom app to find out which network has the best signal where you will use it. Is it for outdoor or indoor use because signal can vary?
Then go with the best deal and network. Personally I would get a data (sim only) bundle. The best hotspot device I have come across is the TP Link: TP-LINK M7350 V4 4G LTE MiFi, Portable Wi-Fi for Travel, Unlocked Mobile Wi-Fi Hotspot https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B06XC16Q..._lP3tBbR52THRY Are you in a rural area? That will bump up your cost if you need a signal booster. Initially, I used a mifi device and then I bumped up my data allowance on my network. With EE on a sim only plan after a few years of loyalty I get 20gb for £20 a month. I use my iPhone to create a hotspot and it is pretty fast in most instances with the speed being 48-68 Mbps. Not bad for 4G. |

Thanks for that info. Very helpful.
I will be using it more for traveling so no one area for best signal as such. Current location is fine however. Cheers |

I did the same with my phone and bumped up my data allowance with EE. Speed is faster than the BT Wi-fi available at the site where my static caravan is.

I have a Netgear aircard , it's perfect. Great battery life, usage displayed on screen and acts as a hub to create a small lan which is handy for wireless printers etc.
I got a 50gb rolling monthly data only sum from vodaphone for £25. I use this all the to.e as my flat share in London doesn't have Wi-Fi, it's also great if we're travelling with the kids.
