OEM F30 LED Foglight coding help

Hey everyone,

I need some help regarding coding the LED fog lights (complete OEM foglight and housing for the LCI f30). I purchased them a while back and had them coded and installed into my f30 but I am noticing a problem. Both lights are functional when unlocking the car (welcome lights) and when turning the fog lights on by pressing the button. However, for the cornering lights only the left fog light works-if I turn the wheel to the left OR to the right only the left foglight comes on. I also noticed if the cornering light is on for more than 15 seconds it starts flickering non stop. I have not checked to see if the flickering happens when the fog lights are on together but I am assuming its the same case. Is there a way to code these properly to make sure there is no flickering and that the cornering function works as intended. I still do want both fog lights to come on as welcoming lights when unlocking the car as I already have it set up. I have searched the forums and I keep getting a lot of different answers and different set ups. I am looking for the perfect code that will knock this out completely if that is possible

Thanks!

The best way to code the LED flog lights is by adding the 5A1 to the VO and encoding the FEM with it.
So you forget nothing because the program automatically selects the correct values.

I coded my led bulbs using CARLY, but I still get very dim light from the fog bulbs for a few minutes until the car power shuts off completely.

The fogs are OFF in the picture

Newer lamps have conditional brightness settings (ie different percentage for welcome vs remote vs FMH, etc)

So this is the correct way to do this upgrade? I was reading around the forums and a lot of people were throwing different lines of code. By doing this method will I still keep the welcome lights? I am sorry if this is a noob question, I will be getting my installer to code the fogs and am looking for a guide to give him prior to install since I have neither the tools nor the experience.

There are many solutions for this problem, but in my opinion this is the best way.
Like i said the program is changing automatically the right parameters.
And if the 5A1 code will be saved in the VO so the codings will be also remaining after an update by the dealer.
The welcome lights will be keeping.
The only problem could be that your individual codings (if there were any) will be lost after this coding.
You or your installer should search for VO coding guide.

My LED fogs required resistors to stop low level flickering. Normal coding didn't affect it. But only the fogs did this, the headlights did not need resistors.

Would you know what these code settings are?

Yes, but depends on vehicle hardware. Does vehicle have TMS or FLE?

I'm not getting any flickering, just the fogs stay dim lit untill complete shutdown.

Ah! My car has xenons. So those modules are probably not present.

Mine flickered while dim. The difference could lie in my lamps/canbus compared to yours. If your canbus has a higher value capacitor it could smooth out the flickering to a constant output. In any event I'd try a resistor, it worked for me. I used 15 ohm 50 watt, which stays much cooler than the usual 6 ohm 50 watt.

For fog light, settings are in FEM_Body.

For headlamps, Xenons (at least adaptive) are controlled by LHM/TMS.

I would prefer not to lose all my previous coding features since it is a fairly long list. I was hoping for a coding solution to this problem, from the looks of it, seems like the fog lights work perfectly when running. But the cornering feature is the one causing the flickering. If I can't get a surefire way to code this without flickering I ma have to code cornering function off

Are your lamps adaptive? If not, you cannot code cornering.

Hello,
I need some help with my LED's, they are also flickering now. I used them for sometime, they were good to go. Now all of a sudden they started flickering. Could you help me adding 5A1 to VO?

Thank you in advance.

Honestly surprised more people overseas arent using BimmerCode...

This is all very easy to do, along with SO much more.

Not my experience. My 2014 F30 has absolutely no special features, just the original halogen headlights, with only the manual adjustment wheel on the main switch. I coded cornering, firstly on the original halogen fogs and then on the LCI replacement lamps. All works as expected. The only issue I had was with one of the widely recommended settings (FEM_BODY / 3073 / C_BLC_ENA => enabled), which stopped the manual height adjustment working. Leaving the setting disabled had no effect on cornering.

hello gentlemen, i have a problem after retrofits oem led foglight, after assembly the left foglight blinked a lot and the right one worked ok, I coded BimmerCode in normal mode and it was fine for some time. The left side blinked again and finally stopped working. I connected it in place of the right one and it works ok, I also connected the old bulb halogen in it and it works. I coded later in expert mode according to all forum tips and the left side still doesn't work. have any ideas?
