Wish I could find a local Indy that cheap! I contacted ours when the MINI needed servicing and they were more expensive than MINI themselves 😂

Dealerships closed for a year, used car prices high so more people keeping hold of cars, these cars need servicing, dealers need cash now open - ridiculously overpriced normally, so boost sales by offering a discount. Still making significant margins.

Our local was literally packed with cars and only had a handful of appointments available when I booked in for the offer, pretty much all the slots have been taken up - definitely a massive cash injection.

Wonder how many people will receive quotes for extra work, Brake disc have lips in is the easiest one garages love to use. Suspension has leaks etc.
I have no doubt at all that it will lead to further work and advisories. BMW aren't going to pass up the opportunity...

I’ll let you know on Wednesday

I think they’ll be disappointed with my car as the suspension, tyres and brakes have all been replaced within the last 12 months

I got quoted for 3 things, rear discs, rear suspension strut boot missing and as per my other thread, my passenger lock doesn't work properly anymore :/

Are you guys all getting the Standard "scope" charge added to your services too? I'm looking at my 2 yearly Brake Fluid change, and have a c.£20 standard scope charge added.

Incidentally my car still has a small part of the original 5 year service pack left - so I'm expecting to pay for the Brake Fluid, but not the scope...

I've always had standard scope added for £30. Never bothered challenging it as they read ecu and update service history so ok with me.

Nope - sailed through just fine, just 2 rear tyres shown to be needed. We always receive a video every service showing the underside of the car and a walkthrough of the components, detailing and faults if there are any. Figured this was a standard dealership thing?

No, but a lot of people have gone to independants. Not so much the cost, but the level of service they got, or rather didn't get from BMW.

They have also been closed as others say so are trying to drag people back with discounts as a lot have nothing but their own internal work to do.

Agreed. Servicing costs really aren't bad these days from BMW. It's the terrible "computer says no" attitude that people seem to be fed up of.

My brake fluid change is due in Oct 2021. I guess that's too far into the future to take advantage of the 20% discount?

As Londoner said earlier; remember it's only a month leeway either side of a service date...any longer and you won't have a full service history and it won't register as green/ok on the idrive.

I have invoices as proof of service and will reset this myself.
I think when it comes to my car i will struggle to get service light reset. i have not chosen the air filter option due to having a performance one installed.
I believe you can reset the indicator yourself. Non-BMW garage reset mine when they did a service but couldn't update the idrive. As long as you have the paperwork come selling time.

Nice spot OP! Pity mine isn't due until Dec. They last did this nationwide discount on Black Friday 2019 but didn't run it again last year.
