I really like the inside and overall "feeling" inside the X4. However, it looks so weird, good luck reselling that after a few years.. If you want a SUV, take a X3. I drove one for many years and it's really nice as long as you get the M-Package. It doesn't feel too much "SUV" and it is really fun to drive |

I was tired of waiting for the M340I so I drove and fell in love with my x3 M40I. I drove a 2019 440I and it did;t seem much different than my old 2013 335I (PPK and dynamic handling). Bought the M40I with Adaptive Suspension and 21" wheels and not looking back. As the details of the G20 come out, I am thrilled I didn't wait.

I would have no problem taking the sedan over the SUV any day of the week. Wait for the G20,or, like already mentioned, the 2018 340 with the M Performance pieces is a fine machine, at a discount now.

I try to get into the idea of a suv but honestly I barely like sedans. Suv is a bit extra and I wouldn't drive it spirited like I would a sports sedan or coupe |

The interior of the M40 is what I see pictured as coming on the G20; it has the latest I-Drive with hand gesture control, so in many ways the X3 life cycle changes included what the 3 series is getting. I buy versus lease, but list on my 2018 M40 was north of $65,000 and discounts (including the BMW Corporate Discount Program) were $7-8K A loaded X3 will likely cost more than a loaded G20, but it is a great option.

I have the 4gc with 19" wheels and have the drive mode in sport/sport+ quite often (adaptive suspension). I drive around Boston where many roads are riddled with potholes, cracks, and rough patches from being dug up, patched, and dug up again etc. Even then I just can't see what the big deal is with ride comfort. Sure it can get a little bumpy, but it's still perfectly comfortable. It's not as if my head is hitting the ceiling, or I'm cringing when going over a bump. I guess I just don't see the f30/32 in any configuration, with any factory suspension set up, as being uncomfortably stiff.
If you do find it hard to deal with though, I'd say get a nice comfy 5 series or x5. The x5 loaner I had was so smooth and quiet on any road it was almost disconcerting in a way. It felt like I was in a hover craft of some sort. It should certainly fit the bill for anyone wanting a soft, classic luxury car ride though. |
