I get the impression the mild hybrid is more about improving emissions and making things like stop/start work more seamlessly than it is about performance; I could be wrong but I don't think the later models have much if anything in the way of additional power and torque over the earlier non-hybrid versions?
So whether it's worth seeking out a mild-hybrid probably depends on your priorities; all other things being equal I'd go for one but given a choice between two M340i's, one my ideal spec and colour combo but a non-hybrid, the other not quite right from a spec and colour perspective but a hybrid, personally I'd opt for the non-hybrid. |

It gives the engine a boost when you call for max power off the line I think they call it e boost, it can generate 11hp as well as improving smoothness of stop start and efficiency.
