Bird poop stains etched into the paint -- Help!!!

Left the car with BMW service dept. for 2 weeks because of this....
http://www.f30post.com/forums/showth...=699664&page=3

Went to pick the car up and I noticed some stains on the hood and roof.. the car was outside for 2 weeks in the hot sun. Here's my math...

Acidic bird poop + hot sun - indoor car storage = etched in bird poop stains.

They re-washed and buffed but if i look on an angle up close I can still see small things that resemble watermarks on the hood. How do I get rid of it...

I think you are into paint correction with this (buffer).
Check out a auto detail forum such as Autogeek to get ideas on fixing it yourself. Or you could take it to a reputable detailer.

I hate these. Splatted insects can do the same thing if left on too long.
I think BMW clearcoat is considered "soft" as for why it is more vunerable than some other brands. But basically this could happen with any car given the right circumstances.
Good luck.

better yet, take it back to the dealer and tell them to fix it, since they're the ones that left it outside for so long...

Honestly, I thought about that but I dont want them touching the car again unless its absolutely needed... and I dont wanna deal with them unless its service or maintenance.

This. You'll need a rotary buffer and a good polish like Poorboy's SSR2. Check out Autogeek for instructions.

Sucks, but if the car is your daily driver- it was bound to happen sooner or later...

Yup. Mine is my DD and I too have a bird crap etch. And I removed the poop within 24 hours too. Doesn't take long for the acid to work.

Good advice if you know what you're doing.

Bad advice if you don't as you can potentially make it worse.

Find a reputable detail shop in your area, and have them polish it out. It won't cost you that much.
