Wheel Spacer Recommendations for 435ix GC ?

Has anyone added wheel spacers to their 435ix GG. I just recently acquired a new 435ix GC with the M-Sport package, DHP, etc. It has the 18" Ferric Grey wheels and M-Sport brakes. I thought about adding some wheel spacers - nothing dramatic, but perhaps a slightly wider stance might be nice. was thinking somewhere between 6 and 10 mm for front and 12-15mm for rear (staggered wheels).

Would appreciate any recommendations regarding vendors/brands, spacer size, installation tips, warnings ?, etc.

General consensus based on what I've read is:

front: 10 or 12mm
Rear: 12 or 15mm

Some people have run 15mm and 20mm but you'd either have to be lowered or ok with tires poking beyond fenders.

Thanks.. I'll probably give 10 front and 12 rear a try..

No, only 12mm front: the xdrive hub is different. 15m also for rear. I belive Burger tuning is your route. You want hub centric spacers too. You may need to consider extended wheel studs too.

I can highly recommend Burger spacers and lugs. They are top quality. The lugs are especially nice with a very nice eggshell finish. A lot of other lugs look totally crappy.

Oh and I didnt realize the Xdrive hub was different on the front.

I talked to Jason at Burger.. he recommended the 10 or 12 for front and 12 or 15 for rear.. I ordered the 10 front, 12 rear.. will post if any problems. Can you elaborate on why your recommend the 12 and not the 10 ?? Hope I don't have to "re-do" the job. Thanks, Tony

Ah, ok. It's only burger that do a 10mm hub centric to fit an xDrive (as I understand it), so because you hadn't previously specified burger as being your part supplier, I took the safe advice route. Sounds like you're sorted then. I look forward to seeing piccies of the final result!

For the record, I have seen 12/15 setups and the balance looks great. I don't think a couple of mm here or there will adversely affect the look, and I think you'll greatly appreciate the difference.

Does adding spacers after you get an alignment done change the camber/toe specs? Would you need to get your car re-aligned after installing or removing spacers?

Good question. According to my mechanic, toe in and camber should be ok. He did say that the wheels will "seek out" the bumps and dips a bit more firmly due to the wheel being moved from the sweet spot angle between the wheel and
Strut. He had a term for it, but I can't remember the term or what that alignment is called, but he showed me the illustrations in the BMW tech manual (he is pretty knowledgeable and BMW factory trained). He didn't think I'd find it a problem though other than the steering wheel wanting to move a bit on rough roads and bumps. I guess I'll find out pretty soon (installing on Tuesday).

Got my Spacers...Subtle but Nice.. Couple of Pics

Just got the spacers from Burger Motor Sports installed on the 435ix CG today. I went conservatively with 10mm in the front and 12mm in the rear. Kit was complete with bolts and nicely finished. Everything went together without a hitch. The car is an X-drive, so it sits high to begin with, so I thought a little wider track would be a nice counter-balance touch.

BTW, the car is the 435xi Gran Coupe with M-Sport package, M-Sport brakes, 18" M-Sport Ferric Grey wheels, Dynamic Handling Package, oyster leather, black kidney grilles, factory black chrome exhaust tips, etc.
I was thinking about de-badging the rear deck, but decided to leave it alone and just start driving and enjoying the car ! Thinking about the rear diffuser, but not sure yet. I have to say that I'm really happy with the looks of this model in the Mineral Grey. I think its got the best looking rear end of just about anything on the road (for a sports sedan).

Oh, sorry about the dirt and bugs.. haven't had a chance to clean it up.. New Mexico is all about dirt and dust you know.. and no water.

And before anyone asks why I have an X-Drive in New Mexico.. it is because this is northern New Mexico.. 7000 feet, snow, dirt, mud, lousy roads, etc. Everyone here in Santa Fe has AWD or 4WD (well, almost everyone).

Cheers,

Tony

Someone referred me to these ebay spacers but not sure how they would fare compared to the other known brands?

Anyone with more info about these?

OP did you ever get these spacers?

I'm looking for a very aggressive look on my 435GC, thinking of going 20mm front and 30mm rears. Any thoughts?

You'd be doing the hokey-pokey with those spacers. Too wide! (Unless you're thinking 10 and 15 per wheel).

How's the front when you reverse and turn with full wheel lock? Rubbing?

No rubbing at all. Plus the cornering feels more solid due to the extra cm
on the wheelbase.
