Sending donation to TokenMaster

Hi all,

I'm going to pay TM a donation for the Pro license. In his email it says the donation should be "Payment for service", however this option in PayPal also says "Seller pays the fees". Does that mean TM is going to charged a fee? Isn't paying a friend/family a better option??

Thanks.

Paying friends/family is fee free. Vendors cannot tell their customers to use that option to avoid paying fees, if they do they can lose their account. Vendors normally price their goods taking into account the fee. Whether a vendor takes payment via PayPal or credit card he pays a fee either way. With PayPal the fee is usually less than with credit card.

Me too, sent the donation and hes nowhere to be heard from..

As much as I dont like supporting the clone/pirate stuff, but TM exposed him self to the market in way that he offered the service, but he wasn't able to honor it.
If that was the case, he was better off not doing it.

So now the licences and token activations can be bought on Ebay for as little as €15..
Someone obviously came up with a keygen and a crack to his software.

If TM doesn't cough up and I paid via PayPal as a service. I wonder how PayPal is going to handle this.

Sharing overpriced auto software is one thing. Making money off it is completely another. Same with other people here asking for mandatory donations to download pirated software. Either share for free or not at all. This is getting all sorts of illegal...

If TM has (apparently) abandoned support for any reason - other commitments, a fit of pique, whatever - that's his right to do so. What I find rather unacceptable is building a time bomb into his free software, without saying, for example, "this will stop working forever on 31 Dec, so if you want to continue you must subscribe to the Pro version" and then making it readily available to probably the majority of Premium users. I would have been very happy to follow his existing requirement (which I have done, with no result) or indeed to pay him personally for his excellent software. Without a valid and continuing Pro licence, all we have left is the very kind contribution and support for a rearming script, or the dirty backstreets of software piracy.

Another FDL editing option, which I have checked out in case of more difficulties, is to use Esys (without the launcher) to read and save all CAFD files. Then use TM's free NCD/CAFD tool to browse the ECU settings. Having made a list of changes, then use Bimmercode in expert mode to apply the edits. Re-read the CAFD with Esys and use TM's utility to compare before & after to check that it worked. A bit tedious but it has worked OK for me. Of course, VO coding is still available with Esys alone.

I don't mind paying for something "if", I get it. If TM has truly given up then it should be "officially", posted on all the forums, rather than carry on taking donations.

Well, yes, sort of. Hardly a clear route map, and he has been passively accepting subscriptions for quite some time and apparently doing nothing, either to meet his promise or to shut it down.

Suggest you start your own thread, as your question has no relevance whatsoever with the topic of this thread. Those who might be able to help may not see your question, and besides, it's bad form to hijack a thread.

Donated last year and never got a response. Feel good for the donation, but what a shitty thing to not hold up his end of the bargain

OK, so I've got nothing from TM. Therefore I asked PayPal for a refund, which has gone in my favour since TM never responds (inc to PayPal).

Happy to donate to charity but there is no evidence to suggest that my donation ever reached the hospital/institute.

If the payee doesn't respond then PayPal normally would find in favor of the payer.
