I'd love to hear the truth about this issue.....
I hadn't driven our car in months. Now all I have is an analog clock as well. WTF? |

Yeah this is really getting fucking old. A couple days to sort out a bug is reasonable - several weeks is inexcusable. I could have written a new weather app several times over in the amount of time its been down. 'backend' issue is refers to the code running on BMW's servers. Front-end is software that runs on a client like code running in your browser on your PC, or the software in your car that displays information on the iDrive screen. Backend is the code the generates the data that is sent to the car.

Is it just me or did anyone else notice that the service started to become unstable after they introduced the "secure connection" fix for their "insecure Bmw live service". I think they got something monumental wrong now can't fix it.
What grinds my t1ts is that this is something we all paid for, it's unacceptable to just have an ever lasting "we will fix it - when we feel like it" attitude. I wonder if I applied the same logic to my monthly installments if that would be ok |

Well . . . . . it looks like they've fixed it
I've got my display now correctly showing the digital clock and local weather ! So it seems to be restored, at least here in the north east of Scotland.

Can confirm that widget functionality has been restored. I've got the digital clock + weather widget back in action.

Maybe BMW have decided you don't need the widget in Florida, because it's always sunny

Had the same problem here in Norway. The split screen going to analog clock when it should go to digital + weather. Went back to normal a couple of days ago, but today it showed a "We're having maintenance on our servers" message that I've never seen before. Hopefully it will be back tomorrow....
