New here!!!
Hi there,
I am new to the forum. I have a 2013 BMW 335i xdrive, that I just purchased today. The car has close to 90k miles on it, but was driven by some older fellow. I was wondering what the first mod to the car is recommended. I was thinking tuning it with mhd stage 1, but I would like to hear some reccomendations before doing so.https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/im...dthethread.gif |

Drop in a aFe Pro Dry airfilter. About $75. Washable, lifetime filter that will allow the engine to breathe better. If you need brake pads upgrade to Hawk 5.0 pads. For rotors Zimmermann and StopTech make best replacement rotors. Change brake fluid if it hasn't been done within two years or if you don't know if it's been done- for safety. Upgrade to StopTech stainless steel brake lines for $106/set of four since minimal labor when replacing brakes/fluid at same time. Much more solid brake pedal feel. Those are the first mods I'd start with. Best way to educate yourself is to watch YouTube videos from Kies Motorsports. Bryan has a blue 335i that he shows how to do a lot of mods on and he sells a lot of great products. Highly recommend. Hope this helps! |

Another vote for ER charge pipe which is highly recommended as a the first mod before considering other mods.
Is your suspension still stock? If yes - coilovers are another consideration. Lots of threads to review. I suggest KW Street Comfort coilovers as a starting point. |

First mod? Upgrade tires! Second mod? Upgrade driver with some HPDE. That is my two cents worth.
Edit: Actually do charge pipe first, then tires and HPDE.

Also new here and currently driving an E90 that I'm planning to trade in for an F30 sedan.
In preparation for it I'm also looking at mods. Tires specifically. What stickier tire would you guys recommend? |

Amazing handling in both dry and wet. Don't automatically choose the stock size. Stock my car had 225/45-18 runflats. I upgraded to 245/40-18 for best handling. Could have gone with 245/45-18 for most ride comfort and fill up wheel gap more. Just put a Slime 8-minute Kit in your trunk. $45 at Walmart. Also Harbor Freight has a $25 scissor jack with box top that fits right into BMW jack point For under 45 degrees F. I'm doing 225/45-18 winter Michelin X-ICE i3 since narrow tire ploughing throw snow better. If I lived in heavier snow area I'd do Blizzak WS90. If I just got cold temperatures but no snow I'd probably stick with one of the 245 sizes. Hope this helps! |

I heard a lot about the Pilot Spots and have been long convinced by them. Was hoping to get some different recommendations but this will bring me closer to getting them. Have you tried anything from Pirelli or Conti in the past? Thanks. |

Week of November 04, 2019 Update: out of curiosity I looked at some higher ends of the spectrum with driver-focused cars, some of them the latest (and expensive) and i might give a deeper look into what the Taycan is wearing -- here: https://www.taycanevforum.com/thread...574/#post-2480 --- its a slightly new move for porsche (tires and car) that might have some relevance to our cheaper and not so high perfomers.
