Adaptive suspension?
2017 330i xDrive (I’m the second owner)
I’ve got the original window sticker for my car, and between that and the online VIN decoders I’d figured out my car didn’t have the adaptive suspension a long time ago that my car doesn’t have the adaptive suspension. Well, I get to dorking around with settings like I do sometimes when I’m bored at red lights and under the configure Sport/Sport+ mode I can toggle drivetrain, chassis, or both...I thought the chassis option only appeared if the car has the adaptive suspension. So, I flip on Sport+ mode, and the steering of course feels heavier and faster. But also I could not only suddenly feel, but also hear, every little imperfection in the road, coming from all over the car. Well, now I’m really confused. So once I get home, I take a look. Sure enough, my struts have a wire coming out of them. Not that I’m complaining, I’m glad it turns out that I’ve got it. But I’m still confused, because unless I’m missing something, it really doesn’t look like I should...how is that possible? That build sheet doesn't list the m adaptive suspension so you don't have them. Any perceived differences in ride would just be down to the change in steering weight. The wires you see may just be the abs sensor.

Whoops, forgot I asked about this. Thanks for the input! Looked closer and the wire I'm seeing kind of wraps around the strut and doesn't stick out of it like the part diagram shows, so it may be the ABS sensor.
Still interesting how it noticeably firms up. Doesn't matter much either way, like most people whether they have adaptive or not, I plan to upgrade when the time comes for replacements.

lol I was kinda on the other end and didn't believe my car had all those features cuz I didn't think I felt it.
But alas, this is what to look for physically. https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...69&postcount=6 |

I do not believe your car has the Adaptive M suspension either. My car has it and you can definitely feel the difference in ride between Comfort and Sport mode. In sport mode the ride is noticeably harder and you feel every bump in the road. When my wife rides with me she asks me to keep the car in comfort mode.
