Does an addiction mean you have had to own one? Purchased my first BMW but have been a huge fan since my early teens I'd say. Always knew I'd get myself into one, but never really thought I'd ever get a new one. Feel quite blessed thinking about it to be honest lol. I'm sure there'll be many more for me. Really like the 640d's but not sure if it'd fit someone in their mid 20's? Or late 20's when I next change.

Addiction is a primary, chronic disease of brain reward, motivation, memory and related circuitry. Dysfunction in these circuits leads to characteristic biological, psychological, social and spiritual manifestations. This is reflected in an individual pathologically pursuing reward and/or relief by substance use and other behaviors. Addiction is characterized by inability to consistently abstain, impairment in behavioral control, craving, diminished recognition of significant problems with one’s behaviors and interpersonal relationships, and a dysfunctional emotional response. Like other chronic diseases, addiction often involves cycles of relapse and remission. Without treatment or engagement in recovery activities, addiction is progressive and can result in disability or premature death. Not sure if anyone has ever died from being addicted to BMW's but my bank balance would definitely be a lot more healthy if I were addicted to cycling instead. |

How could you possibly pass judgement on the condition of multiple vehicles based solely on the length of time of ownership? Here's some pics of the last M5 I owned, 2 previous owners, F BMW SH, M Individual Audio, double glazing, heritage leather, rear blind, 82,000 miles and a folder full of receipts for all the big maintenance. Still in touch with the new owner and he's loving it. Sound like a dog that i was desperate to get rid of??? You have no idea about another persons personal circumstances and the choices they make. |

You win I think Dandanbmw
My list is puny for BMW compared to yours BMW's first came into my life in 2011 after many other marques; 116i SE - Bought May 2011 - crap on economy and crap on performance 318d M Sport - Bought April 2012 - great car. Had it chipped and it flew 320d Sport - Bought June 2013 - Hated it - spent more time having warranty repairs than me actually driving it (bit of an exaggeration but you get the point) 220d M Sport Auto - Bought October 2014 - great car - loved it - prompted me to buy the 235 M235i Auto - Bought September 2015 - didn't like it - owned if for 7 weeks before buying the 435d 435d M Sport - Bought November 2015 - loving it so far - can see me keeping this (yeah right - until the 440d comes out........)

OP - have you ever worked out how much your obsession has cost you over the years, what with depreciation, interest payments etc.? I've had a similar number of cars (although only 3 BMWs) and it's probably pretty scary

If he's only kept them a few months each time, doubt that depreciation has had any notable effect.
