How it going?! I purchased my first BMW about 6 months ago and am loving it so far! Yes its only a 320 but I love the car and am looking for recommendations on how to start modding. Any input would be fantastic.

Congrats on the purchase. I had a 2015 320i for about six months before someone smashed into me last month. The first thing I would do IMHO is have sport auto programming coded to your car. It really wakes up the 320 during sport mode and also have sport+ added as well.

Congrats, looks great! In my opinion the two best first mods are a tire upgrade followed by some High Performance Driver Education.

Very nice! Excellent color choice, I must say.

I've had my 320i for about a year now and I still look forward to driving it every day.

I agree on the Sport Automatic Transmission. I had other stuff coded as well on my 320i but that is the best option to code. It wakes up the car and makes it so much more fun to drive. Throw a tune on top of it and you will have a completely different car for not a lot of added cost. Both are well worth it.

Congrats. The 320i is a fun car! I like how you can really wind it out and take full advantage of all the motor has to offer.

You're gonna want 2TB coded in. The BimmerCode cost maybe 30$ but let's you code so much (as well as Sport Transmission which is 2TB). You need a Bluetooth dongle(~20$) as well to use Bimmercode. Next get a tune. I have BM3 (500$?) on my 320 and it really wakes the car up. The BM3 support staff is extremely amazing. Stage 1 is perfectly fine as it makes it more fun to drive with no additional mods. Stage 2 needs a Catless DP install (as well as an Intercooler) which can be a pain depending on emissions inspections where you live (It's illegal to replace your cat converter and they check it for emissions). X-Delete also makes your car RWD. It definitely makes the car more fun if you drive it crazy, but imo I wouldn't get it unless you have a spare 100$ lying around for it.

Intercooler and Intake install as well. The intake is extremely easy and maybe cost ~150$. Intercooler install is a bit more involved and costs maybe 2-300$. Not difficult, just more involved. I have the AWE exhaust on my 320i as well (1200$ market price, I got mine on the forum for 600$ and install was only 150$). A new exhaust is a must imo, it sounds 110% better. I think M-Sport brake install could run 1500-2k$ if I'm not mistaken, I don't have M-Sport yet and probably won't ever because I don't track or race my car. You can always buy painted caliper covers for looks (~200$?), but imo it seems cheesy.

I have MG as well and would recommend tints (300$ or so?). I picked up an aftermarket spoiler (150$) as well. My interior is the light tan with the wood grain and I'm doing a Carbon Fiber vinyl wrap. Vinyl wrapping is super easy and you can maybe wrap the whole interior for ~40$ if you wrap it yourself. Very very easy. I also got CF stickers to go over the blue and white BMW logo around the car and I love them (20$). 100% get the black grilles (~50$?). This is my #1 recommend upgrade.

All in all I love my 320i. It's not crazy crazy fast, but I have the time of my life driving it daily. I wasn't a car guy but after my 320i I know so much more. I probably won't settle for a 320i in the future because I have that speed itch, but it's a good car. When I first got it I was a bit disappointed in the speed since you think everyone's gonna be challenging you to races and shit, but I've gotten so many compliments and everyone loves when you make it your own car. Also life isn't the F&F series lol.

Congrats bro and just some advice here for you, enjoy it.

Tires, rims, drop-in intake filter (k&n), lower with h&r sport springs, downpipe, b8 struts and shocks, intercooler, bm3, axleback or catback exhaust.

(not all at once obviously, but these are the mods I made 1 by 1 and the car is definitely now "woke" )

Thanks for all the advice!! I'm definitely interested in doing some basic coding. I was concerned about it causing reliability issues but everyone on the forum seems to have good luck for the most part
