That’s very kind. I am quite some distance away, and should probably wait until a good offer appears. The current cost, either on finance or buying outright is more than I am comfortable with at the moment.

Do you need something as big as a 5/7/8? I always found whilst you have all that power in a car that big and with the roads in the state they are these days it's not really useable. I found it much more satisfying driving a JCW Mini or a smaller M car.....ETTO.

I certainly don’t need something the size of a 7 or 8, that’s more about liking the materials, seats and luxury. My current 3 is just about the minimum size as a family car to do a few long trips, but there is a bit too much road noise so the 7 or 8 has some appeal on that basis.

I appreciate that the new G20 3 is more refined than the F30, and I suspect that the M340i might be a decent all round package. Perhaps even the new M3 once proper discounts kick in.

I agree that smaller cars are more fun to chuck around. We do have an F55 Mini Cooper D as well - that handles pretty nicely and I like borrowing it.

No worries. That deal did look too good to be true, mine is costing almost exactly £10k a year for 4 years.....

Good luck with the search....new S6 diesel maybe??
