Intakes with louder turbo whirl that don't throw CEL codes???

So I bought the bms intake and had got all the issues. So I decided to smoke test the intake and found that the maf sensor placement area leaks. So I took some grey rtv and sealed it and now I have no issues. Sucks I had to do that but I wasn't gonna but another intake. Also I find that the end that goes into the intake boot is smaller then stock so it takes much force to close down the clamp on it. Kind of sketches me out because it leaks air when I smoke test but I get no codes so I guess it doesn't matter.

I'd imagine this is likely the cause for most people with CEL.

If you are looking for sound then you need an open air intake, like CTS.

Had my CTS for about a year, no CEL and it's louder than most intakes.

I ended up tightening the air filter with the sensor and the CEL went off right away.

Do you think it's worth returning it and buy the CTS?

Had the BMS = CEL. Had the AFE intake no CEL but gave rough idle. Now I have the CTS intake and no cel and no issues with idle. Neighbor has the dinan intake and also no issues or cel but doesn't sound as good as the CTS.

My vote is CTS. Great price and no issues.

Agreed on all counts....BUT if you live in a hot climate then you're better off with stock or closed intake system!!

I still run an OEM filter and Airbox. Yall are tripping if you spend money on a plastic tube for some noise when you can make it ghetto fabulous like me for like literally 30-40 breaths out of your day. Cut a hole in the oem box, make it look nice, not like anyone will see it however, replace in car and enjoy turbo noises
