That's all I needed. Used the factory hangers

I dont think it would be worth spending the money. This swap was entirely for looks.

You need the right side hanger from a 335. Alternatively, a muffler shop can alter the existing bracket with a little welding. I think that is shown earlier in the thread.

Good luck.

As stated before, I used the existing hangers and rubber bushings. No alterations to the mounting hardware were necessary.

Interesting. The parts breakdown for both applications is different. I've read that it doesn't align properly if you don't get the 335 hanger. Glad yours worked out.

You dont need the hangers but on the right side the horizonal rod attached to the muffler that fits into the rubber is too short. It wont reach all the way through the rubber piece. My shop ended up cutting off the rod and welding on a longer piece.

I think difference is there.

At low RPM when valve is closed, the exhaust flow doesn't have to travel all the way to left side, which will either translate to a loss at low end or faster spool up or both. At high end, flow is certainly less restrictive. N20 will see gains if stock setup is truly restrictive for the power, or the flow turbo/engine makes, which is the case with a tune.

Mine was the same way but I've never had an issue with it falling off.

There are at least a couple of people that have done it to non-M sports, just search the forum. I almost started that way and then realized the 328i base model bumper had to be trimmed and I had only seen one diffuser that would fit on the existing bumper to make it look right. Not sure that even exist any longer.

Yes but you may want to extend the right side hanger a bit so that it fully seats in the rubber piece. My exhaust guy just welded on an extra length metal rod.

Does the oem 335i exhaust make a better sound, or is it just the 335i m performance Version that does it for the N20?

The regular 335 muffler definitely sounds better that the original muffler on my 328i. I'm sure it's not as robust as the MPE but I got mine for $100.

Just ordered a brand new 335i m performance exhaust to my 320i. So what i basically need is a clamp that goes from 60mm to 75mm?

What you have to do is have your exhaust shop add a small piece of pipe to the muffler so its diameter matches that of the pipe on your car. Then you can use the clamp. The other option is have the installers just weld the muffler to your car. I would not do that so that I can always revert back to the original muffler if I wanted.

Check out my build thread. I have a detailed post on when I did this mod.
