Weekend Hillclimb Driving / 2018 F30 330E

Hi all, I am a newbie to the forum. I've had my Mineral Grey F30 330E for 3 years now, and this is my first BMW. Coming from 2 previous GTIs, I was worried that I would not like driving the 330E... but those fears were largely unfounded.

Pre-pandemic, I used to drive my car up to the hills every Sunday. While we have some great driving roads, this one (Ulu Yam towards Gohtong Jaya/Genting Highlands) was closest to home; which meant I could head up for breakfast at 7am and be home by 10am. For those who said the 330E was heavy and wouldn't drive well, my experience was otherwise.

My car is a stock car so there isn't much to elaborate, although I did change the tyres out to a set of Michelin PS4 (previously was Pirelli Cinturato P7 RFT). Yes, the car is on the heavy side, but the brakes can really take a beating.

It has now been a year since I've been up the hills (as I would have to cross state borders to get to my breakfast spot, it is not allowed in pandemic times) and I really miss driving. Was going through some old videos (some are fast forwarded), and thought I'd share them with you.

Well, after 3 years, 41,812km, 3 sets of brake pads, 3 sets of tyres... I said goodbye to my F30 330E today. I must admit I'm pleasantly surprised at just how well the car drives; we've been on quite a few adventures, both up north and down south of where I live. And of course, countless weekends of gutsy driving in the hills, carving fun corners and hanging out with big boy toys.

I'm waiting on her replacement, which I hope will arrive by end of June. The original plan was to go with an F82 M4, but with the arrival of a little one, a more practical plan seemed the better option. Unsurprisingly, it will also be in Mineral Grey ;-)
