I hope you are not having a buyer’s remorse. It shouldn’t be. You need to acclimate yourself with the car. Go on some canyon driving experience early in the morning (lack of other drivers) and feel the car’s response to every corner and braking. Let your mind settle on the car’s capability.

That may also be the 911 undoings. They may be rugged, but I test drove a couple of them but something about them that felt somewhat industrial - more like Pepper and less like Kate Upton.

To me, they’ve always felt special but wouldn’t say industrial is at all a suitable word. Every detail refined and thought out with the utmost care - they feel as if milled from one solid block and deliver on driving, looks etc like no other.

Already did 500 miles in these first two weeks! I'm loving it more and more all the time. Stopped on the way home tonight to take a couple of pics at dusk... hope you like 'em...

Stunning! Sorry, this dominates any BMW in any way imaginable except maybe practicality.

What impresses me is the list of cool cars you have owned:
'19 Porsche Carrera T
Past BMWs: two '57 Isetta 300s, '70 1600, '72 Bavaria, '78 320i, '18 M240i
Past Porsches: '62 356 B, '55 Speedster 1500S, '65 C Cab, '71 T Targa, '74 914 2.0

Thought I'd update this thread. Tomorrow I'm picking up a new car that'll replace the Porsche after just two months (700 miles) of ownership.

First, why not the Porsche? It was a perfect car, but not perfect for me. There was more performance than I could use, in a package that was too big and complex. It was a serious beast, when I just wanted to have silly fun. But nevertheless, it was faultlessly brilliant.

The Porsche's replacement... will be my fourth Miata (one of each generation). It's small, lightweight, playful, and uncomplicated. Mine will be a '19 GT-S soft top with manual transmission.

As I said in an earlier post, sometimes we just need to scratch an itch. Done, with no regrets. Now it's time to get back to the simple life!

Wow ! - that was quick.

I know what you mean, low, light, agile, great gearbox = fun.

And you can feel when it's about to get loose... With a new 911, you are going so fast to have the same fun, that it's crazy dangerous.
