The sensor assembly is located underneath the coolant reservoir. You can buy a new one from the dealer for about $30. You reach under the reservoir and twist the sensor holder and the assembly comes out. I don't think fluid comes out but the only time I have swapped the sensor out was when the coolant level was very low. Once you have the assembly out, simply unplug the old sensor and replace it with the new one.
