With ISTA+, you may have something like this:

• GSB231 --- CF2101 No message (operation of shift paddle, 0x207): Receiver EGS, transmitter FEM/SZL, signal invalid
• Schaltwippen_8HP (20000164354257), Shift paddles 1
• SSP-SSP-SP0000054 393 Shift paddles SSP
• ABL-DIT-AT2460_ATIP EGS: Shift paddles 8HP P_8HP ABL
• FUB-FUB-FB-GZ-S89-S90-F10 Shift paddle left and shift paddle right
• FEM_20 8044B0: Shift paddles: Short circuit to B+

Clearing errors/deleting faults, without addressing underlying issue, usually, just results in them returning.

There is actual procedure run using one of the following:

• Systematic test plan analysis (ie "Calculate Test Plan" & following instructions)
• Pulling up individual ECU's from Control Tree Map
• Service functions menu (eg, ABL).

Whether presence of error will cause any issues, I know not.

Follow up to my original post. I'm 1 month into the dealer recode and my shifting problem has not returned. Looks like my transmission coding to add SAT/Sport+, was causing the strange shifting behavior. It was either the error from the car thinking I had paddles or something else related to coding SAT. Will probably shy away from trying the SAT on my 320i again, not sure it gave me enough bang for the buck to risk having to have the dealer recode the car again. They probably won't do it for free next time.

I have done this upgrade to allot of F10, F11, F20, F30, F.... cars.

Non of them had any issue with it. Maybe you just had bad luck?

So is there any consensus on what actually needs to be coded for SAT and what does not, or what the best approach is?

Moreover is there a way to do this without risking throwing error codes?

I have a 2014 328i (build 7/13) luxury line with NBT idrive. No paddles, no m wheel, no leather shifter. No sport+ mode. But it DOES show S1-S8 when shifter to the left.

What would be the most effective way to code 2TB without getting carried away changing a buncha stuff unnecessarily?

Moreover, considering I'm not adding the leather shifter or paddles, will I get error codes from it looking for the shifter and paddles? I do not want to show up or my 30k service with a buncha error codes.

I'm only seeking sport+ and improved shifts, no launch control.

Any feedback appreciated... an accurate, conservative list of the necessary codes would be golden.

Start here learn first and then try something like this.

The easiest way is to replace 205 with 2TB and then push to the 3 Modules that need the new code. That's all, your simply rewriting the vin to make the ECU think it has the SAT 2TB option you then have to code the individual modules to support the change I.e. The dash screen options and so on.

Tried to add launch controle to an 205 transmission.

Sport + menu was enabled stock

1st time I checked and changed the FDL coding, no result.

Never did FA coding but followed the tutorial and changed 205 tot 2TB.

When VO coding e-sys gave me an error: "vcm update is deactivated"

Is VCM needed for this?

Hi at all, today I retrofitted at my F31 (335d xdrive) the shifter paddles at the steering wheel.
After installation of the paddles I change vo (delete 205 and add 2TB). In next step I code the Kombi and ICM but if I try to code the EGS I get an error message.

Don't know the cause of your problem, but you also can skip the coding of EGS and FDL-Code:

Thanks for feedback. Today I try to FDL-Code the EGS but I can't read the current coding from this modul. There is no green dot in the list of EGS (CAFD Line is missing). Do you have an idea?
