Exact same thing happened with my client and coincidentally it was a BMW. Employee forgot to put oil in, and the $8,000 in damage's later our insurance company paid as the shop was negligent. A not at fault claim is not going to increase your rates... Canadian perspective however.

Sorry guys for the late reply, I have many bmw that I buy and always sell them to my friends after a couple years. I like to keep the bmws in the family. It was a freak accident. Shop never had a claim in 8 years, but the insurance is dragging their feet. The shop took it to their bmw specialist, below is what he found after the tear down. Its at the bmw dealership now, waiting for progressive to look at it. Once you start the car with no oil, usually its toast right away?
