I've installed the G30 screen on my F30 and looks perfect you will just need to trim the holes where the brackets goes in order to slide on the right the screen in order to the 10,25 screen to fit properly and of couse you will need to fabricate with fibleglass the back pannel in order to match with the F30

i will do mine next week i will post some photos

I've purchased form a very good seller @naviprof

he will provide all necessary items to do the retrofit including coding

I've paid 1200 GBP all in

you will need to modify the dash (holes where the bracket with screw goes) , cut the original bracket and put new bracket to make it in straight position

i will fabricate with fiber the back to match the f30 dash hope to post some picture soon

Did you get the touchscreen to work? I am trying to install a f30 8.8" touch screen on my 2016 f30 with the id6_lite headunit. However, when i plugged in, it came up blank. i am not sure what needs to get coded to make it work. Any advice?

HU_ENTRYNAV2 > EXBOX > DISPLAY_VARIANTE = "breites_display"
HU_ENTRYNAV2 > HMI > DISPLAY_SIZE_RESOLUTION = "8.8_1280x480"
(the second one should be optional - the 1st one is important)

See this thread for more info (you have HU_ENTRYNAV2, which is a newer version of HU_ENTRYNAV).

Note that if you bought a touch screen and don't have navigation, it won't work. You have to get the non-touch version (part no. 65506822626).

Hey I had an 8.8 screen with id4 NBT EVO in my 2016 F30 originally. I upgraded the head unit to NBT EVO2 with id6_lite which has the navigation and everything activated. I never had the HU_ENTRYNAV. Also, those two parameters you mentioned are already set to what u have listed. the screen is still blank. i had apix mode set to apix2, com_mode to mii. None of these changes turned on the screen. The screen remains blank. Do you think i got a bad screen?

Are you sure that your screen came from an NBT EVO2?

Coding should be:

CID_APIX_MODE : apix2
CID_COLOR_DEPTH : 24
CID_COM_MODE : mii
CID_RESOLUTION : 1280 x 480

This coding should have been set in your NBT EVO2.

There is a Touchscreen coding entry as well.

I tried all those settings and nothing shows up on the screen after i code that. Should i be coding first, then installing screen? I connected the screen first and then coded.

Screen should display right away if a) it is from an NBT EVO2 and b) it is not defective.

No coding should be necessary if your NBT EVO2 HU was connected to its APIX2 screen from factory. All the coding, except perhaps "touchscreen" should be in place already.

Does the screen shows "No Signal"?

I tried to connect my 18 M3's touchscreen to my gf's 17 330i and it was all blank too. By saying evo2 do you mean the HU needs to be MY18 since iirc MY17 comes with nbt evo HU

Not necessarily - when I upgraded my 6.5" screen to 8.8", the screen was black (i.e. didn't display the NO VIDEO message) until I coded it properly. I have the HU_ENTRYNAV unit (or NBT EVO ID4 as you guys refer to it in this thread).

NBT EVO 2 is MY2017-on.

Blank screen means two things: screen is damaged or voltage/coding is incorrect. A “NO SIGNAL” message display means that the voltage is correct but the coding isn’t.

The touchscreen display obviously requires extra coding but it seems that either the voltage was changed or the “NO SIGNAL” message was eliminated.

Just to correct a misconception here...
I have an evo / apix2 10.25 screen, which may act differently...
However, when the NBT was set for the 8.8, my screen just showed black and appeared to be "broken" as others have mentioned.
I actually got the screen cheap because the seller said it was broken / for parts.

Once I changed the coding to 10.25, but at the wrong resolution, it then said NO SIGNAL.
Once I changed the coding to the right resolution, it worked fine.

So... it was definitely black even with the right voltage and a working screen.

Now to figure out how to flash my evo... the istep on this thing is ancient... pre-id6 existing, and so my touchscreen doesn't do anything.

I'm retrofitting an f15 touchscreen to my 18 F80 (with 8.8 inch touchscreen). It's not a directly plugnplay, you need to cut the back of the screen and/or your dash, and also coding.

Currently the f15 touchscreen turns on but stays blank, I'll do some coding next week and I'll let you know if I can make it work.

You can also go for AvinUSA but I don't need android and i want something that looks more OEM. Also AvinUSA doesn't support touch in original IDrive, an no android screen work with IDrive touch.

Did you figure out the coding? I have the same issue.

I used BimmerCode to have it coded. Simply change HU's display size to 10.25 and resolution a level higher solves the problem.
Sorry I don't remember the exact parameters but it was pretty easy.

Damn I tried that. I wonder if this screen is a dud. I have backlight but nothing else. Trying to fit the screen from a 18 x5 into my 19 M2c. Gonna give it another try.

There are 2 places to change the screen size and resolution.

If you search for RESOLUTION you should find both.

Here are the correct options for the 10.25 APIX2 touchscreen I have, which came from an X5:

CID_APIX_MODE = APIX2
CID_COM_MODE = MMI
CID_COLOR_DEPTH = 24bit
CID_RESOLUTION = 1440_540 (might also be CID_DISPLAY_RES)
CID_DISPLAY_SIZE = 10_25
DISPLAY_VARIANTE = breites_display
DISPLAY_SIZE_RESOLUTION = 10.25_1440x540
