MPPSK and MPE

Is the MPE the same exhaust as the one included in the MPPSK?

They are totally different as far as I know. The Mppsk is the entire catback system and is a straight pipe when in sport/sport+. The MPE is only the muffler piece.

MPE is Axel back exhaust is a muffler only with a single exhaust valve. The MPPK tune is separate purchase.

MPPSK is exhaust & tune with a Cat Back exhaust that eliminates the mid-pipe resonator and comes with TWO exhaust valves to bypass muffler in sport mode, and this also comes with the Engine Flash tune.

So the MPPSK is a full tuning set vs. the MPPK & MPE that must be purchased separately. Both MPPSK & MPPK claim 35 HP (The earlier version of MPPK is 20 HP on pneumatic waste gate in early version 335i F30 models).

Thanks, my car already has the MPPK, so would there be some way to get the exhaust included with the MPPSK without the flash tune?

I would reach out to dealer, they may be able to verify your install and then sell the exhaust without the MPE portion, but again, you will have to verify installation. It could be more expensive than the whole kit, good luck.

If you are looking for sound, it would be cheaper to just do aftermarket.

Hold your horses!! This is a complete mess!!
This has been asked 100 times and misunderstood 10 000 times.....

MPE, MPPK and MPPSK are 3 completely different products!

- The MPPK for N55 includes a modified air intake + tune. That's it.
- You could also have the MPE in addition (as far as I know not included in the MPPK) which is just an axle-back exhaust (also available as an option for B58).
- MPPSK does not include any changes to the intake, however a cat-back, valved, higher diameter exhaust system, which effectively becomes a straight-pipe in Sport-mode! Such an option never existed for N55.

So no, neither is MPPK equal to MPPSK, nor is MPPK + MPE equal to MPPSK.
MPPK, MPE and MPPSK are 3 different products. Only the last 2 are available optionally for the B58. The first two - for N55.

Stop mentioning MPPK in conjunction with B58. It's irrelevant.

That is not possible!
You either have
a. nothing (stock),
b. MPE (axle-back exhaust)
c. MPPSK (tune + cat-back exhaust).

There is no 4th option when it comes to original equipment and B58.

Thank you for defining, seems some confusion on how BMW did this. Yes, the N55 had the Tune (MPPK) and exhaust (MPE) as separate items. The B58 (MPPSK) combined both tune and exhaust together with an option for exhaust (MPE) only. These were the way BMW offered for two different engines on the F30 line up.
