I got my car back from the shop yesterday. The 335ix/550i clutch does fit and the engagement is so much better than the stock 435i clutch. It bites hard, harder than my ex-gf, jk. The new clutch is about 25% stiffer and the clutch pedal releases back more quickly. To me, it feels sportier. I can now quickly release the clutch in 1st gear without worrying out it stalling. I'm still breaking in the clutch, I need 500 miles of city driving. Once I reach those miles, I'll be testing how it performs with some pulls from a dig and the highway.

Glad it worked out for you. Sounds like a nice upgrade.

I decided on the Spec stage 2+ (SB553H) and a new OEM dual mass flywheel. Ordered the parts and awaiting arrival, hopefully will have the work done in the next 2-3 weeks. Going to order a new slave cylinder and remove the CDV and get them to install it at the same time.

Looking forward to this!

Did you do the CDV delete?

Yup, swapped over a new one that I yanked the cdv out of beforehand.

Since the clutch upgrade was such a big change and my old one was also slipping I haven't really been able to tell the difference of just the cdv yet. Haven't been shifting hard yet either

I can say the feel is 100% different. My car nearly yanks me into motion, makes it feel like I'm trying to ride a bull haha, can definitely feel the power of the car way more whereas it was masked by the OEM setup before

335is/550i clutch review: I have driven on the new clutch for around 1.5k miles. I can chirp the tires all the way to 3rd gear. On highway pulls, I can definitely feel the difference in forward motion compared to when it was slipping. I won't be going past FBOs so this clutch is just right.

Whats your impression on the Spec stage 2+ (SB553H) with the cdv delete so far?

Noise aside, the clutch feel is great and I am very happy with it.
Hi there,
Which way did you orient the clutch disk? I have installed spec stage 2+ myself in april got confused with the orientation so called spec support and they said orient it with flat side towards the flywheel but now a month later i get crazy noise when moving from a complete stop or in reverse so i emailed spec and now they say it should have been oriented another way.
This side i oriented to the flywheel as per spec at the time of the call but now they claim otherwise....
Thank you

I had a shop do the installation so I do not know how they oriented the clutch.

I found this video of an install, hopefully it can help you.

Yes, thank you i have seen this one, but he has a stage 3 and its different from 2+ both sides of stage 3 look the same. Weird its always been raised side of the disk outward towards the tranny and not the flywheel. Does your car shake and grind when releasing the clutch in first/rev gears from dead stop? Thank you for the reply.
