Has anyone been able to modify the stl file on their own? I downloaded freeCAD to give it a try but can't seem to extend the structures

Arrived today! So delivery time to Italy has been 14 days, but it should be shorter in other countries as italian post service is slow (it arrived in Italy 7 days ago, they needed 7 days to bring it to me). About quality, they look well made and fits perfectly, extremely easy to install. Tonight I'll take some pictures and post them, in day light I can't see anything at all.

I took some pictures to show how it looks like. The phone's camera showed them brighter then they actually are so I edited the pictures to reflect the real brightness. Here you go:

I think I'm going to go ahead and purchase the ones from ambientmodz for the F32.

Anybody have experience with a pre-LCI F32? I have a 2016 435i and wondering if this will be worth the purchase.

Been searching the google and the forum for hours and cant get the definitive answer: My car has the full lighting package but appears to only have limited ambient lighting. None below the HVAC, and none in the door cards or footwells. Is this normal or is something broken?

Have you turned up the brightness in the iDrive? It is also in tangent with your dash brightness wheel on the left of your steering wheel. Turn up the dash brightness.

You can code this option out and have ambient lighting run independent of dash brightness too.

Jmg, thanks for the reply. Yes - I have turned everything up in iDrive and the dash. The lights on the b-pillars are clearly visible. The footwells are as well.

I have experience with them & my advice is to stay away at all costs

I have been constantly buying mods for my cars for MANY years & this is THE very 1st bad experience I have had with a product - for something so simple too...

I purchased these for my 2015 435 based on BMWDIYGUY thread/review/install about them (not blaming him at all)

• #1 they are WAAAAAY overpriced @ $64 for 2 simple little pcs of plastic (but I figured WTH, if they work it's OK)
• #2 they took over 1 month to arrive after paying
• #3 fitment SUCKED, no matter how I tried, or how many times I took them out & put back in again - they would only stay up at the very ends and sagged down in most of the center on both doors. I'm a DIY kinda person from blueprinting engines on down; so don't think it was 'operator error'
• #4 even when holding them up in place the light was not that much brighter to warrant the cost & PITA

Finally got disgusted messing with them after 1 week & took them out

If after hearing all that, you still want to try them - I'll sell you mine for less than 1/2 for $30 shipped

The ambientmodz original pieces were 3D printed and HORRIBLE. The new solid plastic pieces are much better. I got mine from another ebay seller and they fit perfectly:

I got mine from here today and installed them in 5 minutes. Much easier than the 3D printed ones, much more solid. The light is more evenly distributed and it looks much better IMHO. I hope these last in the CA heat!

I took a photo but honestly it's hard to capture how they look in real life. You can compare it to the iDrive and Speedometer brightness here:

Damn I already ordered them on eBay too late! Mines coming from the UK. The other eBay seller alrdy told me he doesn't have any that fit a 435i. Ah well I will find out soon if I wasted money.

So I finally got them today and installed them. Honestly they turned out way better than expected. They are nice and bright. Perhaps the new ones are a better design. It fits really well and the key is to not shove them in too tight to make sure the strip remains visible on the edges.

Does anyone know from where I can purchase the ones improved, not the ones printed 3D, preferable from Europe?
Because one that I found is on Ebay Canada but the seller does not ship to Romania

Currently I have the 3D printed version but I'm not quite satisfied about the light improvement offered.
