F32 M Sport Dynamic Suspension + aftermarket coilovers

Hey guys,

Is it feasible to retain the m sport dynamic suspension settings (normal vs eco vs sport) with aftermarket coilovers so i can adjust the ride height? If so, what is needed in terms of parts and service? Thank you in advance for your progressive inputs.

Sorry, here's to clear some confusion..

Objective: Retain DHP + lower vehicle

Could the dynamic handling package functions be retained from aftermarket coilovers? or only with aftermarket lowering springs?

I believe KW offers coil overs that will still function with DHP, but they are pricey and not released for North America yet (not that I can find anyways).

You can find the part numbers if you use KW's German web site.

KW ddc plug and play is what you need. I am thinking about doing them too

That's cool, thank you. Hopefully Dinan or KW release something.

Thx again

If I replace the springs only (e.g. H&R), does that affect the adaptive suspension?

Thanks.

I'm running H&R sport springs on my adaptive f20 m135i here in UK.

All good, works well as DD, dads taxi and occasional track day car.

Thank you PSA55. I think that Dinan will be the best solution for me too. Their web site says they have springs for the 435, but not the 435x-drive...

Hey OP i am in similar situation as i just purchased a 2015 435i xDrive M Performance edition and i want to eliminate the wheel gap and drop it a bit but from reading through the forums the spring method seems hit or miss as it just compromise the ride.

I am very new to the forums and and making any suspension modifications and my understand is with the DHP system on the car the dampening of the shocks adjusts depending on your driver mode selected (comfort/sport) and if you installed KW V1 you would lose that auto adjustment but they make a V3 that will retain this feature and lower your car?

I have attached the link below for what i think is the write set, let me know if this looks correct..

http://www.kw-store.com/products/kw-...it-v3-299.html

Any advice or info from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

The V3 provide manual dampening and rebound only and are linked to the function of the car. The EDC equipped reference is a cancellation unit that prevents dash error codes.

I believe even the DCC sets still function independently of the BMW system and require a button to be installed to provide three different suspension settings, unless they've recently changed and now can be integrated.

Re opening this thread because KW does make a DDC EDC plug n play for the xDrives now.

I'm on the edge of my seat to get them but haven't found a single review yet. Might just talk to TMS to see if they have an opinion since they're one of the few us vendors who carry it.

That's great news! Now only if someone would make a kit for the F31 xdrive...

I guess the wagon isn't appealing to these companies.
Bilstein didn't even touch the whole F3X platform with their own EDC plug n play systems like they do for the F10 etc.
I ordered my coils and their on backorder from KW in Germany. So just s couple weeks and I should have mine in

Any update on how these perform? Thinking of the V3 plug and play or the ECU one?

Those are 3 different items.
  • V3 is highly adjustable manually, no EDC.
  • The Plug n Play DDC work with the factory EDC computer.
  • The DDC ECU ones are highly adjustable electronically even through the KW app controlled by WiFi, but are very expensive they also eliminate the factory EDC. You need to install a new in cabin button to control the KW ECU, as opposed to plug n play that uses the factory buttons next to the shifter.

I have the Plug n play DDC set and they've been great so far, just need to get my Dinan shockware reflashed for free and then I think they'll really be exactly what I want.
I previously had factory EDC with Dinan springs and shockware, and even without shockware the KW's blow the Dinan springs out of the water.
I only want to get my Dinan Shockware reflashed since I paid for it already, and the last BMW stealership I visited purposefully wiped the flash when coding my brakes.

Ah thanks for the clarification. I don't need the WiFi connected app to change my settings on the go. I'd prefer doing the switching via the DHP BMW factory buttons and just having 3 settings pre-setup.

Does the Dinan Shockware make noticeable difference ie. worth purchasing?
