Pocono Track Day with TNIA and my 335i

Made it out to Pocono a few weeks ago to run my 335 with track night in america. Great event as usual despite someone kissing a wall and costing us track time. Only managed to record part of my first session, my GoPro seems to have quit for good.

Constructive criticism is always welcome.

I was there too that day. At 4:50 of this video you gave me a point by,
I was in my daily driver white 135i.
If you remember there was a long second delay that cost you guys some track time. That's because my engine blew up and that was the last track day for my car
The reason I am on this forum is because I ordered 340i rwd mineral gray to replace 135i and want to see if this car is ok as an occasional track warrior.
Is your car stock or is it modded for track use?

Ah I remember that car. Sorry to hear about the engine.

As for your new F30, I tracked mine stock a few times before I modified anything. That said, I’ve now touched on pretty much everything throughout the car. For occasional use, all you’ll really need is some high temp brake fluid and you’ll be fine.

My mod list is in the description of that video if you’re curious.

Did you by chance get to log IATs during the event?

PWG N55. - With a 5" intercooler, on a 90f* day, I was hitting 175* on the main straight. No timing pulls (knock) though as I was running E30 in the tank on a 93 aki tune with more conservative timing.

My car starved of oil on this track a few weeks after Datka had an engine failure there. I did a write-up on spool - street. I was running low ~1:4x's. It was my first time there. I don't think I'll ever go back LOL.

What starved the engine of oil? I'm guessing some G force in a turn. Is this why you won't track there, or at all?

Yes, it happened mid-turn after coming off the straight. It's a harsh track on the car especially so in warm weather. The double infield is pretty fun course, but the transitions on/off the NASCAR oval suck. Lots of bumps that can cause ABS activation and an extended braking zone which can put you into the wall.

I am sure I will be back, just bad joo joo there lol
