where are you applying the rubber? I bought some gorilla water proof tape and tried to tape off the tail lights... its better, but i recently washed my car and it actually happened again... there must be an area that is exposed somewhere that is letting water in

I did too and the condensation went away on its own and never came back for oem, it was only the first 2 weeks I had that issue, both outer lights are fine

regarding the depo lights, I returned mine, I couldn't stand them, the condensation never improved over time, I'm sure there is a leak somewhere near the edge on the pointed corner towards the side of the car, you can see the pinched weld is very narrow

Yeah I've never heard of any OEM owners having condensation. If there is I'd imagine it's a manufacturing defect and affects a small percentage of owners. Meanwhile it seems like every Depo owner has condensation. I can't imagine any OEM part having condensation. Can you imagine if the car you bought had condensation? You'd complain to the dealer, and rightly so!

I have the OEM backlines and had some condensation with them. It showed up after a few months of ownership. The condensation was not bad and I would say it was "within BMW spec" for condensation according to BMW factory maintenance/repair procedures. It lasted for a few days, with the condensation going up a bit and down a bit a few cycles, until it all went away. This was over a year ago and I have not seen any more since (knock on wood). That said, it did piss me off when it happened...

The OEM ones can and do have condensation and the BMW factory maintenance procedures cover it. If the condensation is too bad, they can be replaced under warranty. However, I speculate that the criteria for warranty replacement will vary depending on your location. I also speculate that the cause of the condensation in the OEM ones has to do with where they are stored (at the factory, vendor storage, etc). The more humid/cool the storage environment, the more likely moisture can get trapped inside the light assemblies. The good news is that the light assemblies are designed to take care of condensation (i.e. they are not completely sealed) which is why light to moderate condensation should dissipate over a short period of time - like what happened to my lights.

Now as far as non-OEM lights are concerned, quality control is another factor as typically non-OEM quality control is not always the same as OEM (but it can be YMMV)....

Obviously getting a BMW Warranty on Blackline Lights will be an issue with BMW NA.

Good point, considering they are not DOT approved in the US due to the lack of integrated side reflectors. However, you should at least have a chance if they were purchased from a reputable vendor.... YMMV of course...

Finally got mine installed last week. Took a bit more coding than just changing everything to LED and disabling the monitoring checks. Needed to make quite a few changes in the advanced section of BimmerCode REM to get the full combined inner+outer amber signals and a few other things to function as intended. Specific coding here: https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...2&postcount=47

I was initially on the fence but I'm really happy with how they look in person. Compliments my other black/CF accents. Not a daytime pic but here's a shot.

What is USR turn signal bulbs?

You're just getting a replacement bulb if there is something wrong with one of them, the bulbs aren't manufacturer specific to the company who makes the lights. And if you think you are having a malfunction with the turn signal, check the connections, not the bulb. Or just swap out the bulb from the other side to eliminate 1 possibility.

My prelci tail lights have LED turn bulbs, LED brake light bulbs, and LED reverse bulbs. Can I swap those out and put them in these / are the bulb sizes the same?

Does the black line depot require only one LED brake light bulb for the inner and outer portions?

Reverse light is the same halogen bulb as the pre-LCI, so yes.

As for the rest of the bulbs in the tail lights, all are built in (on the OEMs and Depos) so you don't need bulbs. Only the reverse are changeable.

My Blackline Upgrade: US 2014 F30

OEM's a bit more work in terms of connectors and coding, but so glad I used them. Last pic is mine next to my neighbor's '18. I recommend the OEM Blackline and the OEM harness with Bimmercode coding. No plastic resister boxes!

I added the OEM Harness instructions as it tells you how to wire everything as well.

So for the people who did the retrofit, is this the right lights to retrofit onto my 2015 pre LCI? https://www.schmiedmann.com/en/bmw-f...3212450105BMWT

I have 7 of these in stock in Michigan with the wiring harness. I can ship anywhere in the world. My fellow Canadian neighbors don't have to pay any crazy customs since we can ship from our Windsor location. That's a huge added saving for you guys. PM me if you're interested. I don't even have LCI taillights listed on my website because the demand is too high and supply is too low.
